Going back to the reveals trailer. I have to say Ghost Rider theme is pretty cool

I found Ghost Rider’s theme to be kind of weird at first, then grew to love it - like Tasky’s theme, it sounded so out of character but in the end it was awesome.

Also loving Hawkeye’s theme. It’s my favorite of the new batch.

Yeah, man. I think Taskmasters theme was a bit TOO heroic for him. I mean, the guy is a complete douche.

He kicks your ass, steals your moves and then tells you to get out of his face. What a nice guy!

Is taskmaster really that evil? I don’t know my Marvel besides reading up on stuff (like World War Hulk and the whole Civil War and I forget the one where Iron Patriot created his own squad with the Sentry in it) but taskmaster seems more of like a minor villian that gets into stuff but the heroes dont really pay him much attention.

I don’t think Taskmaster is still exactly a villain, but he isn’t a hero either. He trains people, and really does whatever he wants.

I don’t really know much about these things but I think Taskmaster is mostly just an anti-hero. He doesn’t seem like he wants world domination or anything like that. He’s just acts like an asshole lol.

Taskmaster is chaotic neutral. He’s a mercenary looking to get paid. He’s been hired to teach new villains abilities he copied and has been hired by STARS as well to teach.

Timstuff:

Given that MVC2 was basically glorified Mugen, and at least 1/3 of the roster is unpolished crap anway, I’d say most reasonable folks did not expect MVC3 to have a roster that big. However, given that it’s a 3-character team based fighter, the fact that its roster was only average-sized for a regular fighting game really starts to hurt after a while, and when many popular characters are missing it just plain doesn’t feel like the roster was big enough. I think in the end, Capcom wanted to cut down the development time and increase their profit ratios, and while I’m sure some of their more brain-dead fanboys would applaud them for making as much money as possible, I as a consumer do not feel like they gave MVC3 Vanilla the amount of work that they should have considering I paid over $60 for it.

If they’d given it a more robost suite of training and single-player modes with better netcode, I probably would have forgiven the small roster. If they’d given it a bigger roster, I would not have cared as much about the bare-bones presentation for the single-player and crap netcode. Ultimately though it just was not a very value-packed game. UMVC3 addresses this slightly with the cheaper price, but it annoys me greatly that Capcom didn’t do most of that for Vanilla, and for UMVC3 they are still leaving out many fan-favorite characters and premptively planning to leave out game modes just so they can sell them as DLC, and probably leaving out characters so they can release a third version, all in the name of the mighty dollar with an attitude of “loyal customers be damned.”

I never really paid attention to Taskmaster in the Deadpool panels I picked up here and there but it’s interesting to hear he’s been around for 30 years lol.

I dont think you understand how hard it is to make 3d models that move as fluid as the ones in a 2d fighter (a marvel fighter no less)

And they cant put everyone ever in a game, thats impossible. People would overlap and play the same, hell they recognized that with even Akuma and Ryu this time around and made them almost completly different characters besides the fact they’re both who they are.

I’ll take custom made fluid unique playing 3D characters over 230948208 shoe-horned in characters that play exactly the same.
