not really because every phoenix player is going to know all they have to do is mash side+S and you will NEVER be able to take meter from them.

But at least you can get free meter for yourself, since they’ll always be mashing side counter.

Not to mention you also get a free TAC that could mean the guy loses a character.

Most of this list from Neogaf is either incorrect (like Wesker’s air throw being different, when I clearly saw that at least his back throw is exactly the same) or simply a blind guess (ALL of the speed changes based on the stram vids running at pathetic 15 FPS). Take Trish’s Low Voltage for example, even after going through her specials frame by frame, I couldn’t see any really noticeable difference. Based on the vid from the stream, Low Voltages have approximately (and I do mean approximately, because of very low video quality) the following strartups: L Low Voltage is 14-16 frames, M LV is 18-21 frames and H LV 24-26 frames. Just wait till we get 60 FPS vids with the all the characters. Actually, there are some things we could analyze already using 60 FPS footage from Gamersyde. Looking through one of the videos I can at least tell that Chris’ Shotgun and Machine Gun sadly have the same startup.

Hey out of curiosity, since dark hole and purification got faster for Dormammu, did his assists also speed up? Purification was painfully slow as an assist.

I haven’t watched any of the SDCC match vids, but are the characters shown as Black silhouttes in the character select screen until you select them?
If so, could EVO attendees please tell Seth K. or a Capcom dev. to make it so the character is shown with their default color whenever they are highlighted on the character select screen?

IIRC, all assists are something like normal attack speed +15 frames of startup, so they would be faster, yes.

I would wet myself with joy if Purification gained tracking as an assist though, haha. I don’t see why it would be so bad when Strider has his homing ground bounce attack.

That hasn’t been confirmed yet. Karst heard from some players that they felt his specials were faster but since then I haven’t heard anything on the matter.

Phoenix can’t run away anymore, but is it still considered suicide to rush down with her? It looks like that’s what she’s going to have to do now…

Phoenix will pretty much be a dead character now. That is not a complaint. But significantly nerfing her movement options and her ridiculously low health make the cons far outweigh the pros of picking her now. At least from what has been said of her changes.

Not really. She’ll probably still kill you if she ever touches you while in Dark Phoenix mode. She’ll just have to work for it instead of just throwing a few salty balls and teleporting your way.

It sounds like Phoenix will need an assist to safely dig into that ass, just like everyone else.

Just finished reading Guardians Of The Galaxy. Rocket Raccoon is a legit BAMF. This game also needs more Gamora.

I reccommend the initial miniseries of Rocket Raccoon, it’s really cool, I hope he get’s his debut suit!

It’ll be intersting to see how many of these changes make it into the final product.

Tish’s low voltage (at least the L version) has been compared to Magneto’s disruptor. That’s a pretty damn significant change to be wrong on. Hopefully we’ll get some real info on character changes other than "megneto has a new move that does this."
Chris’ magnum does appear to be fast to me, but again it could just be the video quality playing tricks. Faster magnum would help immensely but if that’s his only change their ignoring the problem. Chris NEEDS a decent anti air to zone, and faster magnum shots aren’t going to help him there.
