ULTIMATE Balance/Tier talk thread

This doesn’t make him top tier or anything, but Nemesis is a blast to play; you feel like the other character is a super ball.

Can’t nova special cancel his j.s like dante?

I don’t think so. Even if he could, seems like every special move he has is unsafe anyways.

Nova cannot cancel his J.:s:. Perhaps into an air Centurion Rush (I think that’s what it’s called), but even if he can, that’s asking for a ToD.

What do people think about Phoenix Wright? I might spend some time in the lab with him today. He gathers evidence lightning fast, but I can’t seem to land that Objection. In fact, the only time I’ve seen it landed was some noob that just repeatedly hit :f: :h:. Over and over again. He did land it eventually, too.

gravametric pulse is mad + on block

UltraDavid posted some thoughts on twitter and I tend to agree with what he was getting at.

In all the streams, we’re seeing Phoenix Wright gather evidence at all costs and then run around spamming Objection until they get into Turnabout mode. That’s damn hard to do though - he has basically no mix-up and is slow on the approach.

It makes a lot more sense to enjoy his strong projectile/keepaway game in Courtroom Mode and let his Objection/Turnabout mode be your deterrent for someone getting in close. Or, you need to use someone elses Super to easily combo into Objection to get the party started.

He’s going to take a lot of work to make him more consistent.

Only the red health versions. Otherwise it’s negative.

Actually is H version is pretty close to even, but it has a really long start-up.

Was speaking to a friend… seems the best way to land objection guaranteed is after a DHC into Maya super because he can combo whilst she’s swinging her arms about. Rather than randomly poking with :h: in a vain attempt to land the objection.

Then you tag him out and have an invincible assist. Your point character(s) will then be happy and you can build the meter for Ace Attorney should you need it.

The tricky part of that is all the character swapping involved.

[]That means Lawyer was in and had time to get 3 evidence.
[
]Then you tagged out to another character.
[]That character got a combo that could DHC back to Lawyer
[
]Lawyer goes super saiyan and finds some way to tag out safely?

It’s certainly doable but that’s a lot of work.

Phoenix’s Press the Witness assist in Turnabout is so freaking OP.

Hey lets give him a completly invicinble assist better than Haggar and Tron put together

Don’t forget Hsien-Ko, even her gold armored Pendulum isn’t as good O_o

Hawkeye isn’t a good anchor. He has a good assist, but he is mad easy to block. You can’t rely on chip damage when your opponent still has x-factor.

Hawkeye XF 3 with loaded hypers= don’t move a muscle. He can pretty much scare people into doing nothing, which allows him to go for all the low/throws he wants. Cap counters him, though. Pretty hard.

I just don’t see him being an effective anchor unless the opponent doesn’t have XF3. You can still approach him when he has loaded hypers, it just takes patience.

I think Firebrand kills X-23 and like an anti air assist is her only hope against him. I think she can fight Spider Man better than Firebrand and that’s saying something. Magneto and Trish turtling is probably less of a problem than him at this point.

There are lots of AA assists in the game this time too.

Jam Session is probably still the best.

Watch the vid. The feints will be near the end. You can cancel out of the rekkas into his chi power ups. And you can cancel from his H/f.H into his rekkas which cause him to ignore advancing guard.

I see. Thank you.

Hulk’s AA has lagg orsomething, he jumps up hits them, then does the damage?

hawkeye bodies phoenix for those reasons you mention PLUS gimlet shit on anything she’ll try to do. it’s one of the reasons i use cliff. jean wasn’t overly nerfed imo. jean players just actually have to deal with shit besides being snapped in.
