Deviljin is acknowledged as a strong poster, because he relays his thoughts eloquently into written form; however, he doesn’t understand the game at anywhere near top level, and therefore is doing nothing but boosting his ego.
And that entire list is just terrible awful garbage. Anyone who thinks Viper is in her own tier with the current tournament data available from around the country is either a fanboy on crack, or a troll with no conscience. He also lists Zero at top of S, then goes on to say (with no backing) that has multiple bad matchups, meaning HE CAN’T BE TOP OF S.
The whole list is a bloody mess. Why anyone is taking this seriously is out of control. Instead of discussing tiers amongst mid level players, you should all be grinding and improving.

You said Marlin’s Viper is the least scary (I’m going to assume you meant character) on his team. If that’s what you are saying then…I dunno.
Technically the list is S minus and he said characters that he would have “trouble” against. Not necessarily flat out lose to.
If we based tiers based COMPLETELY on tourney results then there would be no point in having a tier list any way. Only so many of the characters are regularly played often within the US so there would be an obvious bias as to which characters the players like to use the most.
Didn’t Yipes also say even Fanatiq is considering dropping Magneto? If that was serious then…that’s all you need to know about Mags in Ultimate I guess.

Well, in vanilla. Now, it’s STILL Magneto, being the best. His ammy is probably the best ammy, but He’ll be dropped soon, I imagine, for Dante or Vergil.

Ironman is better than Viper, because Ironman has a 100% win ratio in tournaments.
Also, Sentinel is better than 90% of the cast, you can tell because look at all of those winning teams he’s on.

Magneto is the strongest. People only lose to the viper because viper is not played by anyone else. So he scares them with gimmicks.
viper has shit normals so dont act like its not a big deal.
if normals werent such a big deal, people wouldnt be crying about how good and broken zero and weskers normals are.
and people acting like seismic hammers is the best thing since sliced bread needs to stop. its a good move, but to say it stops zoning completely and other similar bullshit claims is just laughable.
about marlinpie. marlinpies viper was his weakest link on his team. the tournament match vs combofiend, i didnt notice any viper dominance, it all boiled down to spencer vs the dog which marlinpie gained control of that matchup by burning off fiends x factor with the veil of mist and utilizing the dogs retardedly good normals against spencer to his advantage.
dont get me wrong, i never said viper sucked, but to claim she is the undisputed best is just plain theory fighting. theory fighting was fun in the early days of mvc2, but lets get past that please.

I honestly don’t understand how people can do things like declare Viper B or A tier at this point, or consistently advocate this version of Wesker being top 3, it was stretching it to place him that high in vanilla.
Wesker can be lamed out, hard, by anyone who can throw diagonal projectiles from super jump height, and fly or air dash away afterwards. He also has a lot of problems with pressure backed by lockdown assists. His resets off OTG Samurai Edge are also notably weaker this time around, due to the shot floating them much higher. His own zoning was not particularly improved by Samurai edge (horizontal) losing a single frame of recovery. He can’t anti air every tri-jump with Samurai Edge into combo anymore. His counter super can be stuffed now. He still isn’t going to ToD anyone above 850 without x-factor or a level 3 or both. He got a conditional damage buff, and his existing combos made easier. This does not in anyway make him better than he was before.
There are two types of people with opinions on Viper. People who have played against a top level Viper, and those who have not.
Seriously, Viper didn’t change much, we’ve already been over all this crap, can we at least talk about something new?

Viper did alot of work for marlin against combofiend, I dont really know what matches you watched.
And to claim her normals are terrible and that the reason people think she’s good is because of normal seismos is pretty uninformed.
Chrisis also made top 8 at a few majors with Viper, but I guess no one besides marlin plays her right?

Iron Fist Combos are hella fun. It’s to bad actually hitting someone in a way that you can do one is so fucking hard.

the only reason why i bring up seismos is because theres this myth that her bad normals are negated by her seismos. whenever people bring up the point of her bad normals, believers are quick to point out that her seismos makes up for her bad normals.
if you’re gonna bring up chrisis making top 8 with less played characters, you can pretty much get most of the original cast in the top 8 yet hardly anyone is gonna believe spencer is top tier.
imo, the reason 90% of peeps are using wesker right now is as a backup/to adjust to the new cast and changes in the old cast.
the character is still great, but not s tier, prob not a+ tier either.
