I think Assists are really the reason why Arthur in his current state (without level 3 xfactor and gold), can never reach anything higher then C or even B-. Beams beat most of his non gold armor stuff, and most of the beam users can rush down effectively. I love arthur and he’s fun to use, but what he’s supposed to DO, he doesn’t Do effectively unless you account for all the BS taht is level 3 xfactor and gold armor.

Only major Dante has won sadly. PRBalrog has been using Dante since day 1 of MVC3 and it’s only he replaced it with other characters like Wesker did he get a major win. SMH
Dante did get second place at EVO though. That’s no small feat. Dante has also appeared in several top 8’s, so there’s that too.

Anyways, whenever I get pissed at this game I play Wesker/Strider/Phoenix. It’s ridiculous. So you snap in a kill Phoenix? Now you have to fight against XF3 Wesker or XF3 Strider. Pick your poison. Of course, Strider is more deadly in XF3, but I’d take Wesker too. It’s a cheap way to abuse this game. Honestly, this team would be better with Dante/Strider/Phoenix, but I am going to Maximum Derp when I am pissed. Wesker still has some holes with Strider assist though.
I’d say Doom, but I don’t think Doom is as great as an anchor as Dante/Wesker.

Iron fist has good speed and good range on normals, he also has an overhead that he can follow up him self, I think we can all agree though he is not top tier. Good defense alone can give wolverine problems, the further on the other side of the screen that defense is it makes it harder for him, this is not theory fighter, this is fact and common sense. Beserker slash was wolverines best movement option because it traveled through projectiles, it allowed him to get passed virtually any zoning he wanted, people might not think this was a bad nerf but it really was because zoning is even stronger in this game. The thing about wolverine is that he’s good at punnishing bad mistakes, that’s not a benefit of wolverine, it’s a flaw on the other players behalf. Just watch top wolverine players, they all advance slowly and fish for air throws, the same way they play any other character that has weaknesses, when they beast it’s because it was the other players fault.
I still stand by my opinion, wolverine is good but no where near as good as he used to be. He beasts right now because he can punnish well at a time when players are still experimenting with mind games and making obvious mistakes that are easily capitalised on. Wolverine is same tier as Storm and Iron Fist imo, he has the same weaknesses but shares similar mixup possibilities, he’s just easier to use and more exploitable when people are inexperienced.
If this is theory fighter, so be it, I call it observation and forward thinking, I’m a Wolverine player so I also talk from personal experience. Sorry if I see things differently that you do, even if it’s wrong, but I play some very decent players who have tight zoning and know how to block well. My experiences are that when wolverine is on the opposite side of the screen he has to work his ass of to get in, normal forward jump and normal long jump are his only ways of clearing decent space without being punished or without block altering your trajectory and beserker slash requires holes in the other players patterns to take advantage of. Wolverine on opposite side of screen of good zoning = uphill battle.
My opponent used to be able to press buttons. Until they took an EX Seismo to the knee. 
Does IF have an ambigious three ranged command dash? Does IF have a super that increases his mobility? Does IF have great instant overheads with XF or Beserker Charge (j. L)? Does IF have incoming mix ups that are almost impossible to judge? Does IF have air options? Does IF have a rapid fire cr.L?
I think you’ll find yourself saying no a lot. You shouldn’t let Wolverine be on the other side of the screen dude, and by your logic that’d be a flaw of the player to do so. If your opponent is playing a zoning style team, make sure Wolverine is on point. Keep up the aggression and don’t allow your opponent to get full screen. Sure, you can’t stop your opponent from getting mid screen away sometimes, but almost ALWAYS when an opponent is full screen away from you it’s YOUR fault.

This is especially true in a game that introduced a ton of great zoners, and gave the already good ones some more tools. Wolverine doesn’t even feel like the same character anymore, if anything Strider or Firebrand feel like what he used to be the most.
If you guys feel this way, and I’m sorry for saying this, you were never good with Wolverine in Vanilla. You were just abusing his derp.

The more I play this character the more ridiculous I think he is. No significant bullshit (other than a few meh unblockable setups) , but so fucking solid. He’s one of the few characters that I think the S tiers have to really respect when they’re going up against him. Great assists, Solid damage, good zoning, godlike normals, one of the best neutral games in the business… absolutely no comeback potential whatsoever. But who fucking cares? This dude is GODLIKE!
As long as people get hit by dash>low poke, Tasky has comeback factor. And that will never not happen, so you’re set.
