there was alot of useless drama a while back. some of the guys from the northwest suburbs crowd challenged us to fighting games and we told them we were the best in the midwest. they responded by saying that the best in the midwest was at NC. at the time, we were as good if not better than most of them. needless to say, none of them knew how to play competitively and we proceeded to whoop on them and they couldnt handle the shit talking. the entire ddr crowd was changing then too. we decided the scene was dying after 90% of the players turned goth and really sucked too. also we didnt want to show up at the arcade and leave all nasty anymore so we started focusing more on fighting games afterwards.
i stopped playing right before 6th mix came out. i never really had a chance to play pump and this was way before ITG came out. i never actually paid for any games either. i just played at the arcade that i used to work at and always got free hookups. dancing games are way too expensive for my blood.
if we have pump, ITG and DDR machines then i guess that’s understandable. i never go down there… i guess that’s why i havent really noticed anyone. the only good people i know on campus are kevin and lauren but i think they stopped playing a while back too.
also, i’m nowhere as good anymore. i’m not as in shape and i cant even read the fast songs
So uh… I’d like a 3S machine, but that’d never happen, sadly. Seems like they’ll only get the new, flashy, shitty games instead.
Kevin still plays…a lot. Lauren still plays too, but not as much.
Any fighting game in the RR will be fine by me. I mean, the Ultracade they have there has HSF and CE, but the machine has a little input lag.

I think we’re going to have a tournament near the end of August or something. But you could also just drive down some weekend and play with us. This year, I have a car, so I can move about setups and such so we can get at least 2 setups at someone’s place, so we can get a decent amount of games in.
And sadly, I don’t think anyone from UIUC is going to make it to Vegas. Way too rich for my blood, anyway.

my dizzy has gotten way better in the past month, i think. it’s amazing what summer boredom in central illinois is capable of. my combo execution and frc timing is pretty solid now, and i also picked up some new tricks along the way. i wish i was at this level when i went to ohio and mwc. dan still kicks my ass, though. :wasted:

you got two more weeks to practice up scott. a couple things you should know about dudley, his roundhouse has high priority. all his various fierces are also good (forward, standing, crouching). if you’re missing his long ground combo, it means you’re doing it too slow. his auto combos are good, hard to parry all the hits. his links open up his game alot, learn them. the easiest one is forward rh, link super. his hcf k move where he dashes forward is ok for mind games, kinda like mappa feint. SA2 sucks. use of SA1 or SA3 is purely preferential. SA3 bars are alot shorter whereas SA1 does a ton more damage. only the first hit of SA3 does substantial damage. the different punches send SA3 at slightly different lengths. 2 crouching shorts should be long enough for you to hit confirm his supers. dudley has fat pixels. he eats ryu’s standing rh for free. don’t bother doing any of his air reset combos. damage reduction does not reset unless they parry and get hit again. and the only reason dudley is considered any good is because of kokujin.

today was a weird day.
i went to bed around 2 last night and woke up at 5 because i had to sub for a coordinator shift at ISR. anyhow, i found out after arriving there that i will have to work for a extra hour since there are 600+ people for a bible study convention who can’t make it to the dining hall until past 8am because they’re praying (wtf). they were pushy as hell too, keep on asking me to do shit. aren’t these people supposed to be really humble and stuff? half of them couldn’t speak english for shit either. no, we don’t have any goddamn waffiels and i ordered somebody to refill the keshuup two minutes ago. fuck them and fuck ISR.
i came back home all delirious around 10 and passed out until 2. i was browsing srk when my gf called me cus she wanted to go shopping. so i was like uhh ok, and went to the mall. i tricked her into going to best buy later but they still didn’t have the dvd i wanted. fuck. then my mom randomly called me to tell me that her friend (she’s 43 years old, mind you) is pregnant wtf. please, let me eat my burrito in peace.
i then stopped by eb to inform brady about the tourney on last weekend of august (25-27). he seemed cool about it. i’ll start playing around with designs for flyers and stuff.
i’m gonna practice some asuka combos now.

hey, just got back from a nice family vacation… in minnesota. mall of america is just a big mall. it was nice, but its just a big mall.
anyways, i was talking to my smash friend down there. a smash tourney called “Show Me Your Moves 6” (some of you are familiar) is going to be held there sometime in oct i think. he gave me permission to host a guilty gear tourney there as well. the space is nice, and theres room for both tourneys.
with your guys’ help it wouldnt be a problem. what do you guys think? otherwise, ill at least bring my set up and have friendlies w/ whoever.
on a similar note, i went to the huge smash tourney of the summer a couple weeks ago. theres a good number of the smash community that is familiar, interested, and competent in terms of guilty gear.

Good advice, but most of it I already know from watching match vids over the years. The hardest thing for me to do though is 1P super. For some reason, 1P qcf X 2 is really difficult for me.
Anyway, I should be good to go eventually.
