UIUC Thread - Stage 2: Yamete!

If I was going to spend $2000, it’d be on high-class hookers or a night of buttsecks with Jerry, not on a trip to EVO.

Las Vegas is where the high-class hookers are at! :o I can’t see spending that much, unless I actually went out and gambled, which I don’t.

Regardless, it’s far too much money to spend on a hobby at my age.

with $2000, i m sure u can find better hobbies like high class hookers, like the brazilian import company they had in new york.

andy, quick change of plans.

one of the guys is coming back in town to have a birthday party at the house. and apparently, he’s gonna bring some people from naperville (although i hate those fuckers). so it probably won’t be too good of a situation to house you here since it’ll be crowded, noisy and most likely messy.

i might be able to get some games in with you elsewhere, but i can’t guarantee it.

i’m really sorry.

Going to EVO won’t cost $2000…maybe now it would.

what the hell does that mean

its all good, thats why i ask in the first place.

we’ll make plans for another weekend

y’all bang some bitches

If you booked your flight and hotel a long time ago, a trip to Vegas for EVO wouldn’t be costly at all. Getting tickets and a hotel now will see higher prices.

hey, im going to be playing some ST casuals this weekend. any general or specific advice for me? [easy] characters i should play? and how do i throw in that game?

No, it would still be costly, just less so.

Advice: mash.
Throw: mash MP or HP

plane ticket is one of the least expensive part of the trip if anything. shit, i mean it’s fucking vegas dude. just booking and staying at hotels alone is expensive. and if you wanna go out and have fun at casinos/clubs/etc. and eat good food and get wasted and shit for 4~5 days, you could blow around $2000 easily.

also, evo details was only announced like a month ago so it wouldn’t have made much of difference.

st: random throws for the win!!

haha, you guys think so highly of the game

hint hint:

we were covering for you

Chun is pretty simple to pick up, especially if you aren’t playing against characters with good fireball traps. Her standing medium punch gives her a lot of advantage, so much so that walking consecutive MPs can’t be interrupted by normals if timed properly (obviously you get pushed outside of its range after a few of them). Jumping medium kick has great priority, her walking speed allows her to punish whiffs with throws for big damage, low medium kick is a really overprioritized defensive poke, etc. She has a useful glitch where she can perform the motion for her super and hold forward, and as long as you don’t release forward for more than a few frames the super will come out immediately when you press any of the kick buttons. NKI has a lot of great info on Chun on the Shoryuken wiki.

NOOOO WHY DID YOU DO IT, ANDREW

Really though, ST takes a lot of dedication. Any advice we’d give isn’t really going to help much. But seriously though, here’s some advice that will increase your chances of winning some games.

  1. Mash on all sorts of normals
  2. Find a normal that’s really abusable
  3. Perform guessing game between mashing on said normal and throw.
  4. Win one game out of twenty?

so i’m in japan right now for a few days and went to ikebukuro sega arcade yesterday. was pretty cool cuz they had VF5 machines and there was a GG slash tournament (!). so i saw SHUTO (the yellow axl) and 012 (sol player) in person. there were probably other famous ppl but i didn’t recognize the names. 012 beat SHUTO in the final (which was best of 1 game LOL).

there were a few female gg players like jerry said so i played a few and they were pretty good but i could still beat them, until some dude in a business suit kicked my ass with zappa lol.

any hot female gg players?

get any secret tactics from 012 that you can teach me? (^_^)
