Uila Flash S Led and and a 12v Led Controller

Guys i have this (12V) Led controller and some Uila Flash S Led. I’m trying to use it but it’s too much power the led’s get really hot. How can i get this to work? I don’t know much about voltage, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks guys.

LED operate through Current, instead of Voltage.
The more Current, the brighter and hotter LED get, then die.

That is why the use of Resistors in LED setup.
To limit the Current.

Resistors on the Uila is for LED working with 5V source.
Your source is 12V, so the default Resistors are not enough.

You will want to replace the Resistors, or add more Resistors to the Uila.
Use an LED Calculator online to find out how much Ohm for Resistor you need.

jdm714 thanks for your help. This led calculator (http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz) it’s asking for the following info Source voltage, diode forward voltage, diode forward current (mA). Now i guessing that the source voltage would be 12v since my led controller is 12v (correct me if I’m wrong). As for the other 2 info i don’t the exact specs for the uila led’s to be able to put in the calculator. Any thoughts? Also once i get the right resistor can i just attach it in between the power wire of uila led and the led controller? Thanks again.
