UFGL: Underrated Fighting Game League

I wouldn’t know.
I never played the game.

-SH

IIRC a few years ago there was a site that had fairly up to date sale charts for the games.

USA SFEX3 I believe sold like 283,000 copies. USA EX2+ sold like 350,000.

However compared to the rest of the capcom fighting releases on the PS2 it spanks just about everyone but CvS2 which sold fairly equally. Marvel sold like 50 - 100,000 less (but most players burned the DC version anyway so -shrugs-).

I posted the numbers in the SFEX3 thread a few years ago but I won’t go through it because the point’s been made.

To be honest, I really think “Super dragon ball Z” should be on the list, game is top tier.

Titles? Aya never entered any of the tournaments other than the two mock (fake) tournaments at the beginning to use as test-runs. But out of tournie he and I are about evenly matched.

And no one doubts that fooligar has the best Ryougen/Othello around.

Why are you butting into other people’s business? Back your own shit up. You quit playing long before any of us did.

I’d so back you up if you ever wanted to get something with Cyberbots going. I’m just afraid that aside from a handful of people (5 or less), that no one really cares about the game. But if you need any help with it or something, feel free to ask me

i’m not sure what you mean by “butting into other people’s business” but i still play and still support this game. i had a big set with Harem just last night, ask him if i’m rusty or not.
as far as backing my shit up, well, it’s whatever, this game isn’t paying my bills, i have other shit to worry about.
but i will be at NEC supporting this and other games TarkanX and DarkGeese are running, so we’ll see.

Just wondering why you would even bring your personal business into a video game forum when were talking about a video game? You claim to like monster so prove that. Dont sit here and talk about everyone having titles. Titles were never confirmed to start with. You just decided to throw something out there. Dude, If you got so much personal shit to deal with, Then deal with it. Dont tell us about it. Big set with harem? No offense but Harem is the LAST person you should be asking to back you up as far as anything.

TarkanX: the a2 tourney took more han one evening to finish (started friday eening) because people were in soooo many other different games and had problems finding people. I think it got finished on Saturday

Ignoring the fireworks above, great av though Chipp, Raoh FTW

I’m definitely gonna have to go get some Zarak practice in now, as I haven’t played Weaponlord in months >_<, the tourney in northbrook is gonna be at nickel city right? Hope it’s not too far from O’Fallon

That’s Rumble Fish 2, not 1.

Noone even bothers with 1.

Though technically noone really bothers with 2 anymore either.

I’ve played more TRF2 in the last few months than I have GG. :X

well what that MEANT was that the players i mentioned were good at the game, and should actually SHOW UP FOR the damn game. don’t get it twisted; nobody’s pseudo-“confirming” anything, all i’m saying is what TarkanX has here can only get more people into the game. what the fuck happened to trying to build hype for an event?
and see that’s another thing, why you gotta go and say some shit like that about Harem? he may not be the best but he’s trying to come up, and at the very least HE stated he’d BE at NEC. saying shit like that about newer players or lesser skilled players DOES NOT make new players want to play the game when they see how newer entries into a community get treated like shit, homie. have YOU actually freed up the time to come out? if you don’t try and make time to show the tourney crowd how the game can be played at its limits then the game’s still gonna be in the dark, simple as that. put up or shut up is all it is.

Thats the way of video game communities. Asking a player of lesser skill if your better is stupid. Especially since you know your a better player than harem. No offense to harem because i think he is a really cool guy. But he knows he have leveling up to do. As for you, Im not even going to dig up in your shit. But you yourself have some serious leveling up to do simply because you fail at monster. No offense but you should be alot better than you are/were and you arent. What you need to do is pick one single game and stick to that one game because you need to learn simple basics of fighters. When you can beat me in a game then well talk about putting up or shutting up. But for right now. I seriously suggest you do alot of listening and ALOT less talking.

I updated the first and second posts, JoJo has now been officially added. After I get down all those remaining links on the second post, I plan on going to selected websites and try to get the word out to them about this.

Yeah, I’ve read that the easy infinites and the card system (where people couldn’t agree on how to regulate it) were huge problems with the game. It would definitely be compact to hold tournaments for this game, but I’ll have to look into it.

I’m afraid that this game is in danger of being off of the list (read the end of the first post, and you’ll see why.) If you can, please explain why it should remain on the list; also, I understand that most of these games won’t get that much of a turn out, but more people will take notice of these games, and play them for themselves. When they see the ranking system, they will either think “I want to be number one in this game, so I will take up this game,” or “That person is number one? I can destroy all those people on the list,” both of which will make people want to play these games.

Okay, I understand that getting people to play these games while they are playing other official games are going to be a problem, but with my plan, I believe that we can get all of the available games to be completed, with some time to spare for games like MvC1, and especially SFA3.

Yeah, the Midwest Championships/EVO North is almost always held at Nickel City. There might be changes next year, depending on what the EVO staff does, but it is likely that things won’t change.

man you and i both know i’m trying to come up in that game and i’m not the best at all… but that last line of your paragraph bothers me because for one, getting games like Monster accepted at tourney level is going to take a lot more action than just listening, or just sitting in a IRC channel knowing you can beat everybody and not coming out to events like this to prove it in a latency free setting where there would be no question that you’re damn good at the game, like me and you both know you are. people who are just involved in the tourney crowd, the truth is, they’re hungry for new games right now. what i’m proposing is come out to the event, show people who play games like Guilty Gear, Melty Blood and all that, show them what’s similar about Monster that would make them want to pick it up. the idea is to get NEW players involved, the more the better. and no matter what you’re feelings are about what actual exposition of the game itself is going to be, what counts is the actual level of involvement.

tl;dr: i know i suck at Monster and i play too many fighters to have developed actual mastery, but goddammit if yall don’t actually show up for this and make it happen i’ll be very disappointed.

Easy infinites were Bleach ds 1

Im talking about Bleach ds 2

As far as the card system, just don’t use it. You can turn it off for yourself. As long as you and your opponent doesn’t use it, its a solid game.

Added Bleach DS 2 to a game that I might add to the line-up, also updated the second post with threads and videos for the respective games. I plan on posting all this information on various websites (dustloop, gamefaqs… I know, I know, etc…) If you have any relevant websites that you think I should post this information at, please post.

Would my youtube videos convince you to include Project Justice?

My PJ tournament Videos

Sent out the information to websites such as Combovideos, Cyberfanatix, Melty Bread, the New Zealand community, OzHadou, SNKvCap, Vansibel/Heavenly Swords, and a couple others I can’t remember at the moment. Will plan on doing more tomorrow, once some of the websites are able to activate me.

Kane_warhead: Those videos look solid, I’ve read though, that Project Justice has a huge tier imbalance, and some easy setups for stupid huge damage, unless I’m wrong (which you can please correct me.)

From what I remember about PJ, it was pretty much Roberto, Momo, Kurrow and a very small group of others. Still fun anyways.
