Sano did you run into that unemployed skeletor? I was laughing. Good pics though man. I definitely ran into some of those cosplay peeps.
Oh hell yeah, Skeletor with the pot belly! I was on a line for something when I saw him, couldn’t take a picture of him at the time.
There where some people dressed up like Ghostbusters from the movie too, but I caught them on Sunday when I was too tired to take pictures.
Literally the show had hundreds of cosplayers, good times!
Yeah I saw more than a few of the ones you took pics of man. Did you get any pics of you with Artists and Writers?
Nah, didn’t bother/ask. More into taking pics of cosplayers I guess… Sfdevotion took some pics of me though, At least one with me, Omar Dogan and the Ingrid sketch, maybe he’ll upload them.
None of yall got Poison sketches why?

Someone did ask Alvin Lee for a Poison sketch though in the crowd.
And someone else asked for a sketch of Hugo and said, “He’s the man with his transexual girlfriend!”

I originally asked for a Poison sketch, and Eric asked me who I wanted to draw it for me (Omar or Alvin). I said “I don’t care, whoever can I guess” then Eric made a face like “make a decision” so I said “alvin”. I had to go for a bit, so I said I’d return later.
((I return after waiting over an hour on a huge line that I cut on for the sole purpose of scoring my poison sketch only to find out the artists are on lunch-so I wait.))
((Omar Returns))
Me-“Hey, can I have a Poison sketch?”
Omar- “Who? We’re doing Street Fighter.”
Erik Ko-“She’s Hugo’s chick.”
Omar-“Ohhh, hmmm I’ll need the SF book as a reference”
((We look through it for about 1.5 minutes))
Omar-“Did you have a back-up?”
Me-“Yea Hugo.”
Omar-“Now he I can do.”
So that is my tale. Hopefully next time I can score up a Poison sketch.

That’s too bad. Next time try search for images of Poison on Google, print some of them out and bring them, that might help…
Man at one part of the con Omar Dogan yelled out, “We’ll draw any SF characters! Even SF EX ones!” What a great idea, but at the time I already had the 3 characters I wanted. If they happen to come next year or if I ever manage to go to the San Diego con like I’ve been planning for eons I’ll definitly ask for someone from SF EX(Blair or Kairi). I’ll be sure to bring reference too just in case… course it all depends on what artists come through too… how busy they are, and stuff…
When I went to San Diego last year and got that Arn I-No sketch, I made damn sure to have several pieces of reference for him.
Most artists are pretty good about drawing whatever you want, as long as you can provide something for them if it’s a relatively unknown character.

Man, I wish I could have gone there! I’d love it if Udon would visit an Australian convention some day, although I doubt it’ll ever happen. I’d love to get a Cammy sketch from each of the Udon artists. At least we got Mark Waid and Michael Turner at our last con, and Geoff Johns and Phil Jimenez at the next one.
Some of those cosplayers look really cool, I liked the Chun-Li, Catwoman, Supergirl and Leia ones. I can’t wait to go to the next Australian comic con, I’ll make sure I get heaps of photos this time, there are usually a few good Street Fighter cosplayers hanging around. I met two Chun-Lis and another Cammy and two Ryus last year.
It’s a shame so many people got turned away from the NYCC though, I would have been really pissed off if I paid for a ticket and travelled all that way, only to not be allowed in.

I did it really quickly, 1-2 hours, tops.
The New York Comic Con’s website has been loaded with photos of the con. Right now they stop at Mcfarlane so hopefully there will be more pics in the future.
