I just got my first stick (HFS3) and I want to mod it with all Sanwa parts but don’t know how. Hoping some fellow Aggies would like to meet up and help show/teach me. Thanks!
^I would if I could  I’m trying to mod my own stick right now too.
I remember when we were playing King of Fighters Maximum Impact 2 and Aure picked Terry and Andrew picked Iori and this was the first time we were trying out the game and it was just the first match.
Aure: Hey does this game have roll? Hey I can roll! I’m starting to like this game!
Andrew: This game sucks. How come we’re not CvS2 money matching anymore? Why does the announcer sound stupid?
Aure: Hey does Terry have Rising Tackle in this game? Cause he didn’t in XI. OMG. I can Rising Tackle! Proceeds to do that 5 times nonstop on Andrew as well as throwing
Andrew: (after losing) Fuck this game. I can’t do CvS2 bnb rekkas. Let’s play something else.
Aure: No I’m already getting better at the game. Let’s play some more sets.
Andrew: argh…
yeah, fun times. Roll Tackle for life.
I’ll try to get back to campus at that time once I recover from my study night.
WOW… you are a ***, give me my TE stick back. i’m coming tonight to pick it up, stop asking me to sell it to you.
PSN: natsuki13, add me to ur buddy list and delete fusion916 since he’ll no longer have a working stick.

I’ll add you. But, I pray our connection is good. I practiced two hours with Balrog last night, and none of the new combos worked online because of the different timing. FFFFFF.
Anybody in Sac or Davis wanna sell me a SF4 TE stick for a non rape price? I’m not giving allen back his stick till I get one.
Your vision is too small sir. We must explode SF4 all over the faces of gamers everywhere. We need local tournies with 64 person turnouts. We need Mountain Dew to sponsor us and give away totally rad mountain bikes. Realistically, we need a way (a place?) so we can run big ass monthly tournies on like 4 TVs and set ups, then we can spam places like Sci Lec 1100 and Chem 194 and let the masses know what’s up.
If only there weren’t so many damn FPS fanatics on campus. Dear God, I’ve practically stopped talking to my friend’s roommate because I brought up “twitch” in conversation in reference to QCFs and whatnot, and he was thinking twitch in aiming on reaction.
-starts working on his SRK Diary entry-
Let me know when you’re finished! Can anyone help mod my HFS3??
I’ve read that the HFS3 is a real pain in the ass to mod. You have to destroy the art just to get the case open and there’s lots of grinding/sanding that needs to be done just to replace everything with Sanwa parts.
Yo what the fuck is this cross up at 1:56?
Honda quick standed and got crossed up 3S style
CAMERON, when did you want me to bring the Dremel to the MUGA (or CUGA as Marty likes to call it) back to you?
Dear SRK Diary,
So today was my dreaded O-Chem midterm. Nothing like mechanism rape in the morning time. I was a bit more confident and resisted more this time, but I still lost my clothes, and he’s still probably smoking a cigar today; however, I “cried” less this time. Feeding into that positive note, we used benzaldehyde for our lab today, so the place smelled like cherries (and it’s the good cherry smell) for three hours.
I think I played one game of CvS2 today… yeah, C-Maki/King/Mai. I obviously lost, but all losing experiences for me are good experiences. It’s nice to devote more time to the game, seeing what beats out my mini roster and how to work on match-ups.
Unfortunately, the machine stopped accepting coins this evening (even after a mechanic took a look at it… -sigh-), so I wasn’t able to get any more practices in against the AI, which still kicks my ass from time to time (damn ratio 3 Nakorurus…) and flat-out brutalizes me if (or when) I get to Shin Akuma. On the other hand, I did get in one game of MvC2, and I’m starting to like Ruby more. If only she had teammates who could cancel in/out of her Ship Super.
Tandemonium was tonight, and Chautauqua’s theme had something to do with the Mushroom Kingdom. They had Mario Kart Wii on a massive projection screen (comparable to an average-sized lecture hall on-campus), though they didn’t bother unlocking characters and vehicles. Alas, I can only play Baby Daisy when I get home.
So I get on SRK to see that Marty hasn’t whored himself out yet on the forums for the tourney next week, not even to the extent David has. We learned one week is likely not enough notice to get frat boys, but for us forumgoers, it should be a bit more feasible. Get to work, man.
Also, I never can look at Sakura’s elbow the same way again. I can imagine all the fourway jokes now…
~Lunar
P.S. Sean, the recent chapter of Change 123 is pretty funny. Read now!
You know what? That’s not a bad idea. For future events we can have massive tournaments. But that would require alot of tv’s and systems. I could talk to my boss about holding events at the Griffin Lounge or maybe even Freeborn Hall, since I’m sure that they have connections. But the effort to obtain such resources and transporting them to the event site does seem like a pain.
But realistically, this is WAY down the road, but I would be hella down for trying to make something like that happen, but I would need ALOT of help. First we should start small and gradually work our way up, when we know for sure that our events would draw big crowds and big money. Cuz if anything fucks up or doesnt go well, then it’s all on me.
Fuck Marty, it isn’t about the money. For a lot of people, I feel like it never has been. I really feel like we should start up a group and try to organize big (by big, I mean 64+) tournies. What’s going to get a HUGE community involvement? 1 person winning a shitload of cash or a huge group of people being able to compete and enjoy themselves?
I think we really need to work towards a way to get a bunch of people involved in SF4. As it is at the MU, there are a couple of people who will pretty much rape anyone who is “average” or below for free at the MU. I’m pretty sure that is pretty tough on anyone who wants to get in to the game but can’t get past that barrier of demoralization. Every day that I play at the MU I see a bunch of people sitting and WATCHING people play, but not playing themselves. As it is right now, a small group of individuals are competing to be the best of Davis, and it is reflected in the people who are throwing their coins in the machine. Think about it, how many people do you think are playing SF4 in Davis, and how many people are regularly playing at the MUGA?
If we can get a set-up where a ton of people can play without having to wait 5 hours to get a turn just to get destroyed, that would be so ideal. Talk to your Campus Union people and get the Griffin Lounge reserved for weekly/bi-weekly SF4 sessions. In a less intimidating environment, you can be sure that we’ll get a ton of new faces trying to improve in this game.
Anyone going to watch Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li tomorrow? Why am I excited to watch a movie that’s obviously not Street Fighter? I hear Vega will only be in the film for 3 minutes at most.
They should just make a big Street fighter Tourney movie where all we get are fight scenes and hadoukens.
Marty: It doesn’t matter. Everyone always blames you if something goes wrong, Marty. I hate to be the one to say that, but it’s true.
Scenario 1:
Person A: "Hey! I lost against Zangief with my M. Bison. What the hell happened?"
Person B: “It’s Marty’s Fault!”
Scenario 2:
Person C: "How come I can’t pick Terry in Cvs2?"
Person D: “Obviously Marty must have made it so you can’t pick top tier characters.”
Jack: People actually do come, but usually at night. And I like our little group of gamers that we have at MUGA. It’s been a blast playing with you guys and I feel like we’ve become a little band of gamers that kept the fighting game genre alive in our local arcade. I do wish more people would come in and play, but I don’t see Sean or Alex or anyone else (maybe you or a few others might every now and then) holding back their gameplay so new people could have a winning chance. Sure, they may pick more casual characters and go out of their comfort zone, but they’ll still go all out on everyone. It’s a 75 cent game, of course we all want consistent wins. I can’t play Guile as much except against Bison’s because people realize they can just hadouken zone me and I have a hard time outPopo-ing them.
I guess it would never work for regular play. Your idea of Griffin Lounge sessions might do the trick though.
Anyways, I can’t wait for that 3/6 tourney.
Hey, any kind of session is great. I think bi-weekly sessions should be the preferred choice; weekly sessions we can do like we’ve been doing for the past… I dunno (I’m kinda new to them myself)… at people’s places over the weekend, but at least bi-weekly gives people a chance to study and schedule as well as train. If people want them to be weekly, we (that likely boils down to Marty and maybe Dan) can try to make those accommodations.
I could be a witness to casual sessions; it’s helping me get out of my shell. I’m playing CvS2 against people more often (even though the competition’s more seasoned and generally better), but I think of it like we’re at someone’s place playing. Of course, I’m more hesitant to play IV at the MUGA due to the heavier financial pitfall it would drop me in, but make it free and I’ll gladly pick up a stick/controller (but I hate controllers for fighters).
So if we’re going to have these sessions, there’s not that much planning to them on our part: we just have to make sure we have somewhere to play and something to play on, both of which could be secured without too much effort. Advertising, of course, is the biggest issue, but if we get good enough turnouts initially, we can rely more on word of mouth than we can on media.
I do wonder, though, how many consoles would be good enough for these sessions. We obviously will need two, maybe three or four, for the higher-ups (i.e., the MUGA regulars), but we also want enough systems for people who are new to the game or are working on simple to intermediate techniques (like me). This will not only attract new faces to the MUGA (though, like Jack mentioned, they might not play… initially), but might also persuade them to pick up a copy of IV to try out when they’re not studying or working or occupied with something else.
Imagine if we faced more diverse people with more diverse approaches over people who choose Ken and get seizures over spamming Fierce SRKs. Which would truly be better for not only us, but for the fighting game community in Davis?
I really do think there’s a lot of potential for the level of SFIV players in this area; the Gamestop tourney proved that to me. Deviating away from preconceived standards and trying something new is so much better than just sticking with those standards and shutting ourselves in. It’s our job to be torchbearers for this.
Except you, Marty. You’re the person who whores himself out on-campus for us. And if you plan on hosting tournies, you’re also the one who whores himself out on the forums to lure more local competition.
(Don’t worry, I kid. Maybe.)
Edit: Three minutes? I sure hope it’s Vega attacking Chun at her apartment like in the animated movie.
The whole movie is probably about M. Bison doing fake real estate or evading taxes or something so Chun Li has to arrest him.
Speaking of Ken…

**** it. Shoryuken!
The whole movie is about Bison kidnapping Chun’s dad, tossing him in jail, and forcing him to hook Bison up with free McChickens in exchange for pictures of Chun. Then Chun gets angry and spams st.Strong on everything and happy endings for all
