Just to let you guys know, the frat tourney will be tomorrow the 20th. I won’t be there but I’ll definitely be there for the one we’re gonna have on the 27th since I’m hosting it. I want to start it at around 3. Is that cool with y’all? And barring poor turnouts, we will also have MVC2, CVS2, and 3S on the slate.
Dan, will you be there on Sunday? If so, what time?
Apparently the Frat tourney might not even happen because of a shitty turnout. :sad:.

Pfft. The tournament format is horrible. Apparently, his approach to an “elimination style” tourney is the following:
-Play two matches.
–Go 2-0, advance to 1st place bracket.
–Go 1-1, advance to 2nd place bracket.
–Go 0-2, advance to 3rd place bracket.
-Each bracket plays out as a best-of-3 each round.
I mean seriously, the hell? I guess the coordinator doesn’t know what a double-elimination tourney is, and it’d be so much easier in determining the prizes that way too. What can I say… if the guy gave this a month, perhaps there’d be a better turnout; instead, he decides to hold the thing a week after the game hits consoles… right…
(I also laugh at how most of the people signed up for the tourney on Facebook are women and probably will be spectators like me. Of course, I’ll likely be CvSing at the time, so there’s a small difference.)

Marty, as much as I’d like to have my ass handed to me in my first tourney experience, I know I can’t make it. I’m going home that weekend.

ahhh i wanted to sign up for that tourney, but its been hard to get info, and i thought it was make believe for the longest time. I’m off work tomorrow, so i’ll haunt the MU from 9am till later.
My time up north is dwindling, leaving sac the 27th to start work at my new job in Fresno.

Whose actually going to pay to play in the tourney? No way I’m playing in it if it’s not double elimination cause this game’s way too random. Unless everybody decides to not enter, then maybe :wgrin:.

Get past the small spelling errors and you can see how I reasoned out what I put. It’s up to you whether or not you want to participate. Looking further into the wall posts, it looks like some of the frat/sorority girls are actually going to participate. Hopefully, the staff will be on hand to replace busted buttons from the potential button mashing that will ensue.
Who knows, though. Maybe they’ll be good. Maybe they’ll be better than me (and I truly picked up the game-- somewhat-- last week). To think that one of the more serious players was actually considering holding the tournament on the 360/PS3, though… that was kind of a facepalm moment for me.
And Alex, when’d you get that win streak? Did you come early morning or was it when you came back?

Firstly, I’m not joining the frat tourney, cuz I don’t want to pay 25 bucks to get in. Also, it seems to me that the style kinda sucks, cuz we can just throw the match and get stuck with easy people. In fact, I dare people to exploit this loop hole :]
Secondly, I got that winning streak today at around 5-7 pm. I was originally going to go to class, but I decided to just drop off the essay that was due, and I went back to the MU xD
