3rd Strike is the most popular game here. We got some good players. CvS2, MvC2, and T5DR has some players, but not as much as SF3
we all suck. lol jk.
Oro is too good. The only highlight of our match was when I Aegis Reflectored your SA2, but you jumped over it.
what day/time are usually the busiest there?? ive been working pretty much everyday and am moving soon so would like to get some good games before i leave.

I try to go once to twice a week, I think people usually are there from noon to 4 pm, filtering in and out. Usually busiest around like 2 to 3 I think.

whats up Davis I randomly come down to see my girl, and usually stop in to play I use dudley and am going to be there today around 5-6 so whats up.
Today I received no less than 50 complaints about 3S. So some responses to the major topics:
I know 3S is being a pain in the ass, in fact I see it in the revenue every week, but I have ordered a replacement board and it supposedly is on its way. If it does not arrive next week, I will try and find another board to replace it. I may need help with this, ie watching ebay auctions, craigslist, contacting other arcades, etc. In fact if you can find a working kit from a US based individual, I promise we will purchase it ASAP.
3S is busted, graphic wise, but as anyone who witnessed me fooling around in the input menu today, everything registered including those pesky diagonals. What I really find humorous is that the right joystick is actually off the old cabinet.
Is it possible that the diagonals are missing occasionally? Sure. So I promise
I will switch the game to the old cabinet as soon as our new monitor arrives, which will be within the next two weeks.

I’m sorry to say that SF4 is looking less and less likely. We have the funds for both Tekken 6 and SF4, but according to both our distributors and the developers they are not being sold to US customers. The only way to get the boards, from what I have seen is by importing them. Unfortunately the one company (Coinopexpress) that does import Tekken 6 is based out of Hong Kong and per our regulations we cannot order one from them. IF NCSX (New York) does decide to import SF4, we will gladly jump in and purchase the kit.
If anyone knows of a US based importer for either of these games let me know, and we will try and work something out.
So if you want some sort of fighting game, list them now.
King of Fighters 98 Ultimate is available now, if we cant find anything else, we may just purchase this for the time being....... or most likely not, as I mean come on its just KOF 98 remade. Give me your input.

We are in the process of building a sit down head to head cabinet, japanese style and will be putting some assortment of Fighting games in them.So I’ve been speaking with our distributors and other gamers regarding new hardware. I think we may try and buy the new Taito X2 hardware from an importer. This is the hardware that SF4, KOF12, Blazblu and other programs will be running on. I think that if we are able to purchase this hardware, our chances of finding the ideal software to run increases.
While I am not a huge fan of SNK, I think the graphics system for KOF 12 looks like 8 billion times better than SF4, and the new guilty gear looks even better than KOF. As long as the gameplay is as nice as the graphics, and we can get ahold of these games, consider it a done deal.
With regards to 3S, I’m working on it. I think I found another copy (actually our 3rd within the past month and a half) so it should be on its way.
Discuss game options please, I need input from you guys…
A friend of mine was talking to me and said you might get Kof98UM or just regular 98. If you do go with 98 Vanilla, please get a MVS and get some other awesome SNK games like Samurai Showdown V Special. If you have no intention of getting an MVS and just a standalone NeoGeo board, then just get UM as it’s the updated version and is what everyone will be playing. Also, I know it’s expensive, but if you’re willing to drop the cash for a Taito TypeX 2, then you should at least get a dedicated Tekken 5 DR cabinet. Having Tekken 5 without the cards is just stupid. I currently live in TX, but I used to play there all the time and even entered my first tourney at MUGA, and hearing about how it sucks these days really disappoints me amd I’d like to see that change. Those are just my two cents, just figured I’d throw them out there since you asked.
We most likely wont be getting KOF98 UM, it would probably be just KOF 98 and other assorted games, as we already have the NEO GEO MVS board system.
To be honest I don’t really see the point in getting a T5 dedicated cabinet. The card system doesn’t really impress me, but feel free to try and convince me of reasons to get it, as no one else has (other than to get new colors).
I’m not sure how the MUGA is sucking more now, other then the given 3S problems. Almost all the fighting games are on 37" Showcase cabinets, they have perfect 360’s and better buttons; in fact the only thing that has begun to suck is the competition. The level of play has decreased substantially since I was a student. Everyone uses top tier (except maybe Tekken, I have no clue on that game) and is to worried about frame data rather than actually enjoying the game and being creative.
I’m kinda curious who you are and when you attended Davis? As I am trying to figure out when the tournaments stopped.

It looks a lot better, but please note this board is still having problems and Yang’s stage will be screwed up…though its Yang, so really who gives a shit. Meanwhile I’ve been speaking with some techs regarding the board and it may be fixable, but I’ll work on it on Sunday so you guys can play.

well the reason it didn’t go out was because we got a tracking number for the new 3S kit with an expected delivery of this week…so hopefully this shit works.
