alright just wanted to let you guys know that a fraternity is renting out the SF4 machine on friday the 20th (tentatively). They plan on hosting a tourney as a fundraiser. It supposedly will have a 25 dollar entry fee (part of which will cover all tokens used), and a new XBOX 360 plus a copy of SF4 as a first place prize. 2nd and 3rd place prizes are like 50 dollar gift cards to gamestop. These are all tentative things that I was told.
I think we should still hold our 5 dollar monthly

Hmm… so calculate that out. We had… what, 18 entrants at the last tourney. Of course, friends of the frat and other people are likely going to enter, so if they’re lucky, they might get 40-ish entrants. $25 tourney fee for 40 entrants is… $1000. First prize, given it’s not a CE, is around $300-350, and the two consolations are $100, so they’re looking at… $600-700 profit. I guess that’s modest.
Oh, guess I have to introduce myself.
My name’s Paolo (or as Alex used to identify me, the guy that seems to bring food into the Cave all the time). I’m mostly a CvS2 player (my team reflects my experience and overall skills in fighters), though I do play MvC2 on the side and am trying to learn 3S (though learning to parry is a pain). I’ve been looking forward to playing SF4, but I have no real way to gain off-campus experience (seeing as how I don’t own a 360 or a PS3).
Sean told me about this place after that bowling fundraiser weeks ago. I’ve contemplated joining, but I held off on the somewhat childish excuse that I wanted to import my sig/ava combo from my old forum to here. Seeing as how I can’t really see my own sig until I get 10 posts, I figured waiting for that would be pointless.
Look forward to talking and coming to blows (in-game, of course) with you all.

Good games Tyram and John. It was great to finally meet you guys. Those K Groove and P groove plays were strong and I used my main teams (K Kyo, Cammy, Sagat and P Ryu, Chun Li, Kyo ). Gotta learn how to rushdown/use p groove like you guys and thanks for the Kyo tip.
