UCD MUGA thread

Hella people asking me to let them know when/if I get SFIV early, lol. Don’t trip guys, I’ll post here and hold a session if it does show up early.

But like I said on Friday, Capcom usually doesn’t ship games out early anyway so I’m not even 100% sure that it will get leaked. GameCrazy is supposedly holding SFIV tournaments on the 15th, but take that info with a grain of salt.

Oh, and Sean:

For some reason they omitted the green/brown/black headbands that are also being awarded (black = top 1, brown = top 16, green = top 574), but yeah, there’s the proof that only top 16 get TE sticks if you were doubting me

I texted all of you guys just now. Me and Andrew wanted to do a Tatsu meetup.
David: To be honest, I don’t think it’s going to come out early :frowning:
It’s definitely no gow2 or saint’s row 2.

I’d definitely be up for a Tatsu meet up if Andrew can give me a ride back home(possibly to depending on date/time).

My fault really. I think I decided on a ranbat way too spontaneously. I definitely gotta plan this ahead next time cause the texts came in just now and I just got forced to do something else.

I’m sorry :lp::lp::r::lk::hp: me

It’s cool. Just let me know ahead of time next time. Like a day or two ahead or something.

Oh man I want in on some of this Tatsu action. Roll ftw baby!

Korea fucked me up in 3rd Strike

Mother fuckers when we going to play Tetris Attack. Let’s get this ball rolling.

Tetris attack? OH It’S ON NOW!!!111!!one!11!!eleven!

lol Tetris Attack. I thought you guys started that up and then quit cause Kevin was just beasting everybody nonstop.

Yo

Yo, I was down at the MUGA this weekend, visiting from Reno, and I just wanted to say thanks to the nice folks in Davis for sharing their arcade and hanging out, discussing strategies, whooping my butt, and generally being cool. Not to mention having an SFIV machine. Thanks guys!

I’ll be at MUGA early today, from say 9:30-12:30. gotta start playing 3s again…

Playing 3S = "Fuck SF4 is costing too much, I gotta downgrade"
At least that’s how it went down for me :rofl::rofl:

It’s even cheaper to pay for the opponents game in 3s, I couldn’t get anybody to play so I started offering to pay for their game for a challenge, still saving money!

McManus, you don’t need to tell us your whole life story of your company. Jesus f’in christ, trim that shit down. Btw I’ll be there Picnic day, if I beat you at any fighting game period, you need to retire immediately.

Lol I saw Leoncio at the gym. Leoncio you going to be there picnic day?

Dan Double-Perfecting the high school girl today was too funny.
“Why didn’t anyone tell me I was playing a girl?!?”:rofl::rofl:

Not sure how I missed Dan’s post back on the 19th, but whatevs. Dan, I honestly don’t know how well a BB machine would do at Davis, but as far as I know, the one in SVGL has been a pretty big success. Perhaps you could ask the manager how much money it has made since they bought it and get an idea how much money it could make in Davis. Whenever I drive my ass down to SVGL to randomly play, there’s usually people playing the game during the evening after people get off work or classes. On some nights, you may end up waiting 20-30 minutes until its your turn again due to the line. So yeah, it gets played and I’m pretty sure it’s making a good money. Granted, SVGL has had a solid community for a long time, the numbers may still be useful in making a decision.

The thing is, BlazBlue is not Guilty Gear. They’re not the same game and they don’t play like each other at all. There’s some similar mechanics (but most games these days do) to Guilty Gear, but the game is much, MUCH easier to learn than GG. If one has previous fighting game experience, they can pick up the game at a decent level within a day’s worth of practice.

Being that the game isn’t GG, I’ve seen people of all shapes and sizes within the FGC play the game or want to learn how to play it. I know people that play CvS2 and primarily Capcom games play BB, get good at it, and enjoy themselves; Tekken players too.

Point being: people like new games and they will play them. The FGC has been stale until just recently with a multitude of new, solid games being released. Players old and new come out to play new games, even if they don’t have the Capcom logo on them. In the end, I suppose it’s the community that makes the ultimate decision. Do Davis and the surrounding areas (mainly Sacramento and Fairfield) want to play new games or not?

Just my thoughts.
