Good Games all. I had a blast playing Guile last night. Let’s get something together for a tournament. I can run it if there is enough interest, and on a Friday night or something… (can’t do weekends).
So it was freeplay today from 3 to 5 PM, but apparently only one side was free to play. I ended up going on a 10 win streak while I was seated on the free side lol, I felt kinda bad. Eventually lost to the guy with glasses that plays Ryu and apparently Balrog.
While I like the idea of best of 5 for 3 tokens, I would get really bored waiting 8 people deep for the machine during the busy hours. I guess it wouldn’t be too bad, I’d definitely get some Marvel practice in.
Oh BTW I just preordered Tatsunoko vs. Capcom (which comes out Dec 10th) and I got some PS2 -> GC converters that’ll work with the Wii, so yeah, starting winter quarter it’s fuckin TVC Sunday’s at Jack’s house (or someone’s garage that would be gracious enough to host).
Wiis aren’t region free, are they? Last I checked, they weren’t.
EDIT: Apparently you need to deal with some homebrew shit to play Japanese games on an American Wii.
I looked into it too, only first-party foreign games are region-free and it takes a dual-boot hack to play third-party foreign games.

Best of 5 would take looooooooong with the kinds of crowds the game is attracting. It’s too early to start complaining about the price, MUGA needs the money for the Blazblu cabinet But yeah I’ve spent a crazy amount of money this past week.

Anyways, i definitely think we should do tournaments. i think it would be cool. i probably wouldnt play in one but just host or something, and add some flavorful commentary. maybe within the next month ill try to get something organized. i know most of the things needed to work the machine such as how to access the test menu and change certain options and such.
And why the fuck was vs mode put on best of 5 yesterday? the wait would be too long, if it was like that. i think it would be better to that after the machine breaks even.
SF 4 will not be 5 rounds, I was trying it out yesterday and it takes waaaaaay too long for matches too be completed.
We’ll start tourneys soon enough. If anyone wants to run one, that would be great, I can show them how to set up the machines.
Friendly reminder:
Do not use tokens from other locations, its a pain in the ass to sort them out and they can jam the machines up. If I find too many more country club lanes or stars tokens, I will change the coin mech to accept quarters only, and then we all lose.
