If Mikuni turns out to be anything like Taro’s in sac (same owner), it’s going to EASILY be the best sushi restaurant in Davis, if not best restaurant altogether. The sashimi at Taro’s is mindblowing.

How about we just all meet up on Thursday or Friday (whichever one’s best) and decide where we’re going. Yeesh, I just want some good sushi some time before I go back home because Lord knows I’ll probably be going out to my family’s usual sushi place in the city over the break.

If there aren’t any special Picnic Day things you want to see (performances, the parade, etc.) then it would probably not be very fun. It would be like an ordinary day in Davis, only ten times more crowded… long lines at the ATM, can’t bike anywhere due to crowds, can’t find parking anywhere, packed buses, PEDESTRIANS WALKING IN TRAFFIC/BIKE LANES :arazz::arazz::arazz: No Martin Yan as grandmarshal of honor this year, either.
I dunno, there might be more people at the MUGA or something. There would probably be more kids than prospective students/incoming freshmen, though.
Oh yeah, it typically rains on Picnic Day too. Don’t know why, it just does.

Hey what’s up guys. My name’s Emile, I’m new to the SRK community. I’ve been watching most of you play in the MUGA, and it’s definitely a good time. I’ve sort of been looking for a way to get into the SF community and this is probably the best way to start. I randomly go into the cave when I have time, so hopefully next time I’m there I’ll see and play with some of you guys. Good luck with finals and all that other shit.
Oh and Picnic Day is a hilarious time. Most people are drunk for the entirety of the day and there’s a lot of cool stuff going on around campus. A++++++++ highly recommended, would celebrate again.

Sean, I personally go to Picnic Day for two things, maybe three if you count beating whoever’s at the arcades: milking cows/goats and the Doxie Derby. Maybe also checking out the pets available for adoption (because I have a soft spot for the little 'uns), so possibly four. Other than that, it’s just a nice Saturday afternoon to me. Last year it didn’t rain, though, so maybe the weather will be friendly to us this time around too.

Well, sorry for being so peculiar, Kevin. It’s not my fault that I have a dog back home (a small one too) who’d likely go berserk at the sight of other dogs, or that my dad was raised in a rural province in the Philippines. My dad would probably go nostalgic at getting the chance to milk a cow again.
And it’s cool, though not seeing regulars at the Cave is slowly becoming weirder and weirder for me. Regulars tend to counterbalance all the teens and high schoolers on field trips/kids looking for runaway tokens/general newbies and button mashers that the MUGA attracts this time of year.

I can drive whoever, but know that whoever comes with me, if there are good players there wanting to do casuals after the tournament, I will not be leaving anytime soon that day.
