How you figure i handicapped anybody when everyone has to agree to play? When I played delta and I asked him what characters you use he say strider/doom/sent and I say ill play that team so whats the difference between roundhouse saying ill play you guile/ironman/ken? There is no difference cause you agreed to the match so its not a handicap if your telling me what team your going to play so get those facts straight 1st before people start saying its a handicap. Dark Prince told me last year ill play you my msp vs guile/iceman/sent and i said lets go. I won 3-0 and he got up and said good shit. The difference between some players is the mentality. When some lose they say it was a handicap and some say good shit like delta and prince. A lose is a lose dont care how you put it. You must have some confidence in your team for accepting the match in the 1st place so statements like it was handicap is a way of making an excuse up for the lost that occurred!
So you playing his guile/ironman/ken team is no different than playing his…msp or whatever god tier team he uses?
Disclaimer before this post: This isn’t to stir up or start up any shit. More of an eye opener and I appreciate the opinion that both ABK and Khaos have of me at this point in time.
I do understand the frustrations of things falling through, wanting to be independent and even more wanting a face to face (Play on words) with the people involved.
But in my opinion is that this is getting on the personal side from both sides and it shouldn’t be like that. (I’m not taking any sides since obviously the situation doesn’t involve me) MVC2 has always had that aspect to it. Some people love it and a lot of people hate it. Fact is the scene is out there and community is bigger than people think and everyone wants there part in keeping it alive. But I do not think attacking each other is never the answer. Specially if its gonna deter future people from joining or coming back because its more of the same. The way I see it, its like boxing. U have the fighters, u have the promoters and u have the coordinators ( u dont have to like one specifically in any category ) But the ppl are there specially when money is to be made and the ppl dont mind doing it. So u gotta give them a chance. Like I said yes it sucks when things fall through but i see it as an opportunity because like GFB said. there isnt anyway that u can make anyone do anything. In the end anyone can say and agree and claim that they are going to do something and if in the the end the same person loses interest or something happens, they arent going to show. I know the idea is to collect half upfront and then half later but no one is going to agree to that specially if big money is involved because its life and anything can happen last minute.
I agree on both sides. They both have points I agree and disagree with But My personal take is. We want to keep the scene alive, we want to make money (who doesnt?) and we want to have a good time. So let’s put the differences aside and the drama. The drama should be saved up for the events and everything up until there should be getting things ready and getting hype.
Like I said if u dont like someone in specific, dont just write them off, just go through someone else to get to the person, to get confirmation or what ever it is u need. There is a lot of good potential for all of us to get it popping again. ENOUGH ON THAT and sorry for the long ass post
On the other side:
I had a long talk with ABK as to what are the plans being set up for FR. to me it sounds good. The issue is the equipment and I threw my idea out there as to what I think is the best step from here on out. Since the equipment has to be present for all of this to happen. ABK liked the idea and if anyone is interested they can hit me up and we can further discuss it. For now, I’m planning on donating an Asus Monitor (serves the dual purpose u can play mvc2 in any console, good quality, no lag) a DC and a Converter for the Scene.
There shouldnt be any excuses if you agree to play PERIOD! I see it all the time in boxing when fighters make excuses cause they fought at a “catch weight” and they end up losing then they say oh i wasnt at my real weight thats why i lost. Yea sure if you felt that way you wouldnt have accepted the fight in the 1st place so that excuse holds no value!

It probably won’t be as hype, but it’ll still be fun to watch/be a part of. I have nothing but respect for Sanford and everything he’s accomplished in the MvC2 scene since the beginning. But I’m also going to enjoy smashing his team in. hype I love Sentinel mirror matches.

I agree and appreciate you donating what u can to help out. Like we discussed next year when i do TYS again we should have 2 monitors 1 for ps3 and 1 for 360 and 2 crt tvs for DC. I know krazzy and RGA said they wouldnt mind bringing tvs so that should take care of everything as far as setups. Ill probably end up ebaying a tv to the hotel room and have it taken to the ballroom. Somebody can keep the crt tv if they want after evo cause im not taking it back with me.
