readies shields and flame-walls
I shall say this right off the bat, I don’t really care for any of his movies. They are "meh’ worthy to me at the very most.
…
…
THAT SAID, (and knowing that most users on the SRK forums are black), what do you people think about his movies?
Simple question that I just want best overall explanations. I have a general idea… but then again, when you have cousins who like his stuff a little too much…
Boondocks does a good job explaining it.
And I totally forgot about that episode. Bravo.
Makes me wonder who out there can also offer up an explanation (who is also brave enough to like the stuff and say so in public?)
Yeah, My issue is that dark skin brothers are always evil in these tales.
And that it’s always about some dumb woman that coulda avoided the whole problem if she got smart and didn’t look for some lightskinned hero to comes save her ass.
OP you cared enough to make a thread about it.
Shields? Flame walls? That shit is so old. Fuck off with that shit. Fuck off withyour shit thread too.
You want answers you say? Well, the answer to your question is fuck you. Fuck you also happens to be your question, as in: “Fuck, you?”. To which an alternative answer would be “You fuck!”.
So all in all it comes down to: ‘Fuck you, you fuck’.
Not sure I’ve even watched a Tyler Perry movie, I’ve seen plenty of trailers, look like I’d be wasting my time.
I honestly have NEVER sat through more than 5 minutes of TP’s films. That said, I harbor no hatred towards him and a lot of my fam loves this guy. He’s like the black Seth Mcfarlene, except I actually enjoy Family Guy and American Dad.
While I don’t like any of his works, I can respect his grind. Get that fight money, which yo sexually confused ass!
here’s where you fucked up…
anywho Tyler Poison is an uncle tom, all it took was that one crossover episode of house of pain and meet the browns to convince me of that
isn’t that the same show?
How about that Tyler Durden and the love his movie gets?
fuck credit card companies. /moral at the end kinda came out of left field
The weird thing is that I could never mention Tyler Perry around my white friends, but then get shocked that some of them have actually seen his work. I like his work and am not saying it’s exclusively for black people, but I guess that’s me trying not to be that black guy.

this dude is sendin our people back 200 years…we didnt need any help with that.
All of his works have this kind of Uncanny Valley quality about them that weirds me out. It’s like daytime soap operas mixed with The Apollo or something.
Medea is annoying.
It’s interesting how hard he forces his crossdressing Madea character into his film.
I think his movies and his Meet The Browns show are straight up garbage and displays the hypocritical side of black American culture. Because if any white writer or director produced such patronizing coonery, they would’ve been unceremoniously kicked out of Hollywood and have any hope of restarting their career destroyed in perpetuity.

Not a fan of his Madea character but i’ve watch a couple of his films & they aren’t too bad. Most of the cast usually do a great job in acting & his films deals a lot with relationships. I would never watch a Tyler Perry movie in the theater nor would i rent it out but if its free on tv i give it a chance.
oh look this thread again
