Damn, Conference A Division 1 is looking hella buff. All I can say is good luck to all the teams there, cause you’re gonna fucking need it. But I do like it how there’s pretty much 2-3 power players in every division.
Frank, just out of curiosity, how were the divisions made? Did you just randomize it and then afterward applied a little personal touch?
So if we get a few portland teams in how often would have to make the trip to seattle?
Jacob, I’m already there, dawg haha. Let’s gooooooo
Having two conferences makes for a better-structured playoffs schedule, IMO. Ideally, both conferences have their top 8(?), into brackets. Winner of Conference A playoffs vs winner of Conference B playoffs?
Yeah that’s how the play off structure is going to be exactly.
Top 4 teams from each division into 2 8 man brackets and the champions of each confrence will play each other for the title.
for seeding it’s going to be like this:
Conference A Division 1(CDA1) 1st seed vs. Conference A Division 2 (CDA2) 4th seed
CAD1 2nd Seed vs. CAD2 3rd Seed
CAD1 3rd Seed vs. CAD2 2nd Seed
CAD1 4th seed vs. CAD 1st seed
Conference B Division 1 (CDB1) 1st seed vs. Conference B Division 2 (CDB2) 4th Seed
CBD1 2nd Seed vs. CBD2 3rd Seed
CBD1 3rd Seed vs. CBD2 2nd Seed
CBD1 4th seed vs. CBD2 1st seed
My main concern right now is how fast/slow these matches are going to be, I thought I was going to run 20 a night, but if I did that it’d be the entire league there every week…lol. Turns out I could just run 10 a week.
Super four looks to be not nearly as slow as SF4 is, with a somewhat sped up game engine and faster focus attacks, not to mention just about everyone in the scene will be playing a new character. I assume we’ll have a lot of quick matches early on with people still figuring out characters, I don’t expect to see a lot of downback knowhatimsayin. Should be long enough to make for a good event without being so long people can’t stay to enjoy the entire thing.
I would like to request that someone from tw staff take a look at an issue that tekken players have been talking about for a while. Lag on the TW tv.
Could someone please look into trying a xbox 360 - vga cable? I am reading the HD monitor forums on tech talk, and they reccomend that players try using the vga port on a HDTV.
isn’t there a 100 percent way to test for lag with the game “rock band 2”?
I’ll have to double check KKF, but I don’t think we can get to the VGA ports because of the way the TV is mounted on the wall.
That test has never been 100%. HDTVs are a bitch sometimes.
As far as I know, we have no access to the back of the TV @ TWars, so we can only use the RCA or HDMI input on the front of the TV.
Deadline for HDR/Tekken 6 has been changed to March 20th, I need those finalized so I can make divisions and put HDR on the schedule with SSFIV…
Rock Band 2 will give you a general idea but by no means is it 100%. I test running the stopwatch program (http://tft.vanity.dk/) on the monitor I’m testing and some benchmark monitor (usually a CRT or the EVO monitor). Then take photographs of both the monitors to get accurate idea of what kind of lag you are dealing with (the time difference in the photos). If someone brought a PC to TW it wouldn’t be too hard to test the lag on it. You can also remove some lag by getting into the setup options on the TV and removing as many post processing effects as you can. I took my 42" TV from 43ms of lag to 7ms (same as I tested on the EVO monitor) just in video setting options.
I get the impression that a lot of people are gonna be shocked come March 20th hahah.
Someone please team with Pablo for HDR. Get him drunk and he’ll agree to anything.
don’t tell me that…
