-fought urien player, beats me easily.
-“it’s Twelve, worst character in the game”, like he is telling me “don’t sweat it, he sucks”.
-I change my strategy to hit and run and I beat him, not handsomely, but I still had a good chunk of my life bar left.
-“I fucking hate players who pick bitch characters like Twelve, chun, remy”, he says.
-Then he picks Akuma to rush me down. Thinking he would be mad enough to let his guard down I played more aggressive and lost pretty badly. So I go back to my “land a few solid hits/grabs and stay out of range” tactic, he calls me a little douchebag and I decide to do nothing but keep away. Then he says if I keep doing that he will drop. and he did.
the moral is: don’t insult another person based on their playstyle unless they deserve it. I am playing the way I know know to play, and I won. So don’t give me that shit about playing the right way.
Urien, I love this match now. After countless matches vs Cruise, and watching Kuroda handle him, I learned that Urien players are way too trigger happy when it comes to AA fireballs.
Kuroda stays on the ground 90% of the match vs Urien. He knows Urien isn’t fast enough to punish distanced NDL’s. He gets out of corners ASAP, which is what everyone should do against Urien, but Twelve’s air dashing (especially superjump) is pretty much made for that. You can also superjump D.R.A if you want.
played a lot of matches tonight, maybe 40 or 50 against a bunch of random people. I think I only won maybe twice.
I found that urien is a really fun matchup. it can really go either way, gotta make urien work for those juggles.
I lost to the scrubbiest chun-li ever, he had skill but it was obvious the lag was against me. lots of df-HK and walk up throw nonsense. I hated it. The highlight of the evening was when I did a crossup HK>qcb-p>SA1. I had never pulled that off…ever, so I was proud of that.
it is so much work playing twelve, I get worn out pretty quickly.
the work pays off in the end and any won match is extremely satisfying.
Props on the combo you pulled, I maybe pulled that off once as well. At the same time it’s not quite worth due to damage scaling and the overall positioning is difficult, though j. HK to XNDL is ok to use.
I played some average players the past few days but today I managed to have an 11 win streak against this one player. but then I lost before I could get to 12 wins.
I am having a hard time building the courage to go for the qcb-p and combo into SA1.
you wanna do cr. LK, qcb + LP, SA1. Gotta have that cr. LK. Well you don’t have to but I highly recomend it. I usually use it in my wake up game and my wake-up game consists of
UOH
AXE (HP) or EX AXE
walk back and forth then throw them once they get up
cr. LK
j. HK
or far away j. HP
oh good, glad it isn’t just me. I can’t run away! and this is online, parries are 50-50, I find it is just safer to block rather than risk a parry and fail miserably. This leads to plenty of walking jab chains/grabs that I just can’t avoid. She can counter me in the air, on the ground, anywhere. I can’t glide away to safety, she dashes too fast and can catch me on the way down. Shit, even Akuma/Ken players keep their distance more often.
The only thing I have going for me is that she takes bitch damage.
I hate Ibuki.
After getting at least 40 straight losses today by various players, all of whom were using Akuma, I have decided to temporarily retire from Twelve and SF3. Online is ass and there are no arcades or anyone decent to play against. I miss the easiest parries and lose to the scrubbiest tactics because of it. I work for my win and Akuma just has to do the same basic shit over and over to beat me. It’s bull, I KNOW I am better than this, online is only holding me back and it is holding everyone else back as far as I am concerned.
