[TWars DOUBLES] 2v2 Pre-funk tourney- NEED SETUPS

How does it take away from the ranbat? If anything its more practice so when ranbat happens, you play sharp as fuck. More tourneys never hurts, in my opinion its like having a few warm ups before the main event. So by the time ranbat happens, everyone is playing at the top of their game.

Also, its a good measurement on your skills, if u messed up in early tourney, you know exactly what u need to sharpen up when the ranbat happens.

Like I said, im prob a solo warrior in this style. Just take it as a suggestion, dont hold a brotha to it! =)

although, once the dojo starts really mobbin, im about to make it real difficult for people. True Training BEGINS!!!

Lemme say one thing… Running 3 tournaments would SUCK! Not for the participants, but for the organizers.

Yeah.

Id participate and run one. For the organizers, it comes with the job. Cant bitch about it. But what we can do is organize it so not 1 person is running all 3 tourneys. If you divide it up, then its not a problem at all. Id love to run the late one. If that is one of the reasons for not anyway.

Honestly, I don’t mind the idea of two singles tourneys myself, I just think the 2v2 is a bit more casual and also adds a bit of variety to the equation. We will see how Saturday night works, and then we can explore other options.

i do think its 50 bucks everytime its used because they need to pay housekeeping to clean it and i dont think we can clean it like we do the bar/restaurant, so what if we rented it like once a month or something? already have the bar and restaunrant for free and there is that “5 dollar cover” which we dont enforce strongly.

i dont want to encourage anyone to not come support or take away from fae’s tips because some people come and dont spend anything while some people come and spend hella on food and drinks. be nice if bw could do the hot dog thing or if everyone put up a few dollars every week maybe we could have free soda instead of the 2.50 w/ free refills.

Ok, bringing my setup plus my ps3 if someone is bringing a monitor that can handle hdmi (I don’t have any of the other cables for my PS3).

I am bringing:
360 + Monitor + 360 stick
PS3
Power strips
Bunch of 360 connection options

PLEASE BRING SETUPS. I also don’t have any PS3 sticks for people to use, so will need people to donate the use of theirs in order for that setup to work.

I’ll try to be there between 7-7:30 and get things rolling for the team bracket. Please try to have a teammate in mind before you show up, I will be pairing off anyone without a teammate but it will make things easier.

No minors this week, I’m not sure what the arrangement is with the side room or whatever, but I want to concentrate on teh format and not have to worry about running back and forth this week regardless. For Ranbats we will be moving a setup or two into the resturant most likely. I’m trying to bring my Flip for recording but as it is I really do not have anything setup for commentary (I have my laptop, but it’s pretty low on HD space, I don’t have the programs for it, and I don’t have time to mess with it before tonight).

I can bring the tv.

these tournaments need to start sooner. there shouldnt be a reason to have people still in the restaraunt at 330am. seriously guys. 2v2 started at 8 (im assuming) and was at the finals before i even clocked out. but that was at 1120-ish. why wasnt the ranbat started? shit needs to get moving faster. the reason im telling you guys this, you guys arent spending enough to keep fae on over time. so, the longer it takes for tourneys, the more OT she gets. and the fact that she only rang in 600$ today but had to work from 5pm to 4am isnt worth the companys money. there USED to be a drink minimum. people seem to have forgotten that. i dont wanna see TW/ranbat/anything thatll keep an extra person on the clock getting shut down because it isnt in the companys best interest to keep it running. and if these events arent showing profit, then the things ive heard from upper management might not even be brought up again (these are REALLLLLLY good things, like huge).

The 2v2 started around 9-ish Josh. And we couldn’t start the singles because we had to wait until the 2v2 got done so we could move all the equipment to the dining area.

to further elaborate, what Mikhail said.

I had to wait on singles cause my setup was used during the 2v2 tournament as well. We’ll work it out as we go on.

But ppl should buy some more drinks =D

well, tahts what im saying. why was shit scheduled to start at 8, but started at 9??? why didnt people bring more setups? cmon. get shit together. if it started at 8, then finals wouldve been at 1030 and then the setup wouldve been moved already to the restaurant. this isnt some niggas house where its open all night. and even then, people gotta sleep.

edit: im sounding like a dick because i shouldnt be at home waiting for my girlfriend at 445am. shits fucking bull shit.

I think Danny ran into traffic on the 520 like we did (a lot more than usual tonight), so he got there at like 8:30ish. It took us half an hour to set shit up and get the teams for the 2v2. There were only 8 teams, but it took so long because games were 2 out of 3 rounds, 2 out of 3 matches for every member of the team, which admittedly was a bit too long. Next time, it should probably just be 3 out of 5 per player.

Yea, I understand your frustration Josh, but this was the first time we did the 2v2 tourney, so the next week, it should be WAY more smoother, allowing us to run the singles quicker and get the fuck outta there.

Also, I would buy more drinks if the singles were $5, not $10… I know we went over this Frank, but just chiming in again.

Things should work out next week. I might have to just keep my setup to the side so we can start singles @ 10:30. And just start with one, then once 2v2 is finished (if not before then) we can move them in and set them up.

Yeah, ran into a ton of traffic on 520. Also next week I will probably change the format a bit to 3/5 per match to help speed things along just a bit.

We can move the setups over @ 10:30PM regardless, worst case we just leave one setup in the lounge to finish out the 2v2.

So I wasn’t there or anything, but yeah I don’t really know why things always start so damn late. If ish doesn’t start early/on time then no one will ever bother to follow any kind of schedule. Also, we need to be considerate of the locale. BW has no incentive to stay open that late (past 2AM) since there is no revenue coming in. I am actually surprised management hasn’t stepped in and set a hard closing time. We can all thank Josh and company for that. Seems like people are taking this place for granted and not holding up on their end of the bargain. Step it up kids.

Just a heads up, it’s possible I may not make it ths Saturday at all, and at best case I’ll probably be late so someone else may want to take over the prefunk tourney for the evening. I also know Frank said he would need help with Singles as well, as he will probably still be celebrating his birthday. So if anyone wants to step up and help out, please do. We also need setups as always, last week we only had 3(4 counting the Tekken setup), 2 of which were mine (plus Mike’s TV) and the third being Franks. It would really help the ranbats and the prefunk if people would help out with their own setups.

Yeah we are going to need setups.

And I’m going to need a ride there. For obvious reasons.

So I can bring my PS3 + 1 TE for this weekend. If Danny is going to be late for the early tourney, I wont mind running it but will probably need some help.

I probably won’t make it at all really, I wouldn’t count on my setups even for the Ranbat. I’ll try to make it if I can.

You won’t need help Eric, you’ve got a level head and saw me work on brackets all the time at the Hotness.

To keep in mind, manually seeding (as opposed to using TIO to automatically seed) players is what takes the longest. Just so you understand, seeing as I don’t think repeat teams are allowed (as in same partners, same team) you don’t even have to worry about that. Using your logic you will be able to just slap the best teams on opposite sides of the bracket then go nuts with the rest.

2v2 format is the only confusing part for people to remember, meaning you have to be stern and not be confused by whatever someone else tells you their interpretation of it.

You’ll do just fine man, I know you can do it.
