I was talking about the game in general, you can play it without items, just like you can avoid playing whacky stages, but even then the game doesn’t play like a fighter.
Again, referring to the game in general. Items are part of the game, even though they don’t get used at most competitive tournaments.
No it wouldn’t. Especially not megacrash as it was implemented in TvC. I really don’t like burst mechanics and it’s not suited for a ruthless game like marvel which punishes all the stupid shit you do. I don’t understand why people want a way out when they fuck up.
It’s not a traditional fighter. That is clear by the lack of a life bar.
The only time I played the game with items was on the release. After that items went off instantly. They’re fun and fun when you’re drinking and messing around with your friends. But they really don’t have a place in the game. At least smash gives you the option to turn off the items. An option that won’t be present in SFxTekken.
How do you not understand it? People want a way out when they fuck it up it’s pretty simple. LoL.
That’s correct, it is not. That’s also why I don’t take it too seriously.
I’ve played tournaments which allow Smash Balls, most people pick Snake in said events, they are not fun. As far as drinking and messing around with friends, that’s the only time I touch the game, as some of them take it seriously, I’ve followed them to tournaments before.
Yet some of the neutral stages are still very disadvantageous for certain characters, something I dislike. Certain counter stages are so bad that if you’re matched up against a certain opponent on them, you’ve pretty much lost.
tvc is not dead yet at least not in my country in my city yes i hardly find people to play in my city nowadays, but in mexico, an in guadalajara theyres a lot of people that still play it cause of the arcades an regular tournaments.
i dont know how but somehow some smash talk came into this threat anyway for me melee is the most demanding fighter that has ever existed in the history, i still could not find a more competitive game than melee, an brawl is more about spacing but an counter strategies like street fighter thats why i drop the game.
i will keep doing tvc videos i working on a chunli combo that is both fancy an crazy but im not done yet, i try to upload things like that whenever i get the chance
Yup. You have NO idea how pissed off I was at Capcom at this. Yes the original TvC came out in 2008 but after all that work fans and capcom did to get it brought over and fully updated (the amount of changes made it about the equivalent of a semi sequel like Super SF4 was.) they announced MvC3 not even 4 months after the release of TvC:UAS
Jan 26th 2010 TvC:UAS released
April 20th 2010 MvC3 announced
I saw SO many threads on the Unity forums from people asking if “TvC was good” or “Considering getting a Wii for TvC” or “Is TvC as good as Marvel?” ect ect. for those 4 months before April 20th.
Yes the Wii’s online is ass, but the fact that Capcom announced a DIRECT competitor in gameplay style, and audience which also had a much larger previously established franchise in only 4 months really (and still does) piss me off. I mean they didn’t even give the game a chance to get an audience before writing it off.
Yes the lack of assists was annoying, but on the same note look at MvC3 again. How many characters to people use more than one assist type? I think Doom is one of the only characters that people actually choose one of his two assists based on their team (hidden missiles or beam) I honestly can’t think of any other characters that use more than 1 of their assists regularly.
As for the Megacrash I think if Megacrash had been implemented into MvC3 it would have worked BUT they should have gone the Blazblue type route and given you only like 2 MCs per match max however I don’t think the game needs MC. But personally I think it would have been better for MvC to scrap XF and put in Baroque.
I agree with both these points, honestly, the game would be more exciting if you couldn’t get ToDed while you had it up your sleeve, it’s still a challenge, and I know it would be more exciting as I play TvC, it doesn’t ruin it. Even with UMvC3 on the shelf I’d still rather play TvC, unfortunately there more competition around for the retro-fighters off PSN/XBLA which is a huge shame as it’s a solid game and not even that old.
I rather play TVC than UMVC3, looks better but since everyone is playing UMVC3 i have to lol
but what really made me mad was that they reduced the amount of buttons, i would rather play with the button layout from the old VS. games (xmen vs SF, MSvsSF, MvC) i grew up with it and thats how i wanted to play these newer vs games
