crt cuz i dont have enough money for an hdtv…yet.
I think it depend on the quality of the HDTV.Other then a bad connection i have no lag on my hdtv.
I play on a HDTV, and I never realized I had lag until I brought my PlayStation to my friends and played SF on standard definition. The lag is minor, but it does make a difference with certain links, especially Abel’s standing fwd mk > dash > fierce. I’m considering playing on a SDTV but just knowing that I have input lag has helped me accommodate for it by hitting the button slightly faster than before.
I have SF4 on Xbox 360 and PC.
The Xbox 360 is connected to the game mode (no post-processing) on my Samsung HDTV, but it still has more input lag than the PC version on the standard HDMI port on my TV with all kinds of post-processing.
If I switch the cables or let the Xbox 360 output on a different res than 1080p, the lag gets even worse.
Xbox 360 sux…
For all those who own a Samsung Series 6 LCD HDTV
HDTV with acceptable (little under 2 frames).
Still messes me up sometimes, especially cause I play Guile who has a good number of one frame links that lead into FK. One fuck up means huge opening.
old sdtv
I actually gave my big HDTV to my parents and got their extremely small sdtv in return when I realised my hdtv lagged. but thats okay, Id rather play on a small screen than a laggy screen.
It’s like a computer really … You play on a Higher resolution with HD…THus that increase the stress on your system.
It really… really isn’t.
I respect the intention of this topic, but all these claims of lagless 40 inch Bravia’s has me slightly skeptical.
…just a tad.
52 inch Sharp Aquos. I don’t feel any lag really. And if there is it does not mess up my gameplay. I play on a SDTV at least twice a week at a friends house and I’m not feeling a large difference when i switch back and forth.
Yeah I have a Sharp Aquos 46in. There is no lag that I can tell and my gameplay is definitely better on that one. Although before I had that I played on a 23 in. Samsung HDTV which that is horrible compared to the Sharp Aquos. I also play on a regular crt and it’s ok too. So it depends on which HDTV you get. Make sure it has a game mode too lol
I have a 1080i projector. It’s entirely possible I have lag, but I’d never know because I use a wireless controller. Yes, I know, wireless and SF4 do NOT match, but my 360 is crammed into a shelf like 20 feet away from the nearest chair. It’s a whole wacky setup.
Play on SDTV mostly. When I want some HD in my life I just switch my PS3 to my computer monitor (hp w2207h widescreen). I switch it back and forth quite often as they are in the same room. I accept lag as being there, but I don’t feel it. Taunt to Jet upper with Bryan Fury doesn’t feel any different on my SDTV or pc monitor’s HDMI. Plan to get a PS3 VGA cable when I have the money and be completely sure lag is so little it won’t effect me.
HDTV Sony Bravia 42’’ , no lag
I play on a 52 inch Toshiba rear projection tv. I know theres lag, but I just deal with it. Its not too noticable. I have a SDTV connected to my xbox and I can tell the difference compared to my PS3 connnected to my HDTV.
so on xbox should i have it set to optimal resolution,720p, or 1080p?
I used to play on a 60" Sony Wega KDF-E60A20 and I never knew it lagged until the PC version was released. The whole time I thought it was just me missing links due to execution. Once I played on the PC version I was suddenly landing links I would rarely land on the 360.
I’ve since moved my 360 to my monitor (I-INC IF251) when ever I play alone and it only goes back to the TV when company is over.
not an insult. you’re absolutely right. all lcds have motion/lag issues, but its just depends on the person. some people will notice it right away, and others wont.
i play on hdtv and i think its the only way to go. Dont be cheap if u dont have one. go buy one.
SD TV… don’t mess with a classic.
