Laura isn’t a touch of death character and needs a good horizontal assist and a combo extending or OTG assist. but her mix ups are the best, her MFC makes her safe on everything, and she can kill 2 characters with 1 touch and a level 1 x factor for free if you’ve got your unblockable silent kill set up down. Okizeme is amazing for her.

Im using Vergil ( Risin Sun and Rapid Slash depending on match up, mainly Rising Sun
and Hawkeye who’s moves I dont know anything about which is perfect.

let me be more clear. first character she touches won’t die with 1 touch. the next 2 will if you pop x factor. she was built to be a mix up and reset character. her option selects and her auto corrects are soooo good.
Thats solid. Rapid slash is a lot better for her since it lets her get another rep of Crescent Scythe into talon dive. And hawkeye provides the horizontal assist for you to get in. It’s exactly what she needs honestly. And there are definitely some DHC into swords shenanigans to be had there.

I used Dante Task and X23 in vanilla but I didnt like dante and task since dante wasnt an actual swordsman and task wasnt an actual archer

Any tips for juggling things like ex mgb > lp duck straight > lp mgb in the corner?
also I’m a little confused as to the combo situation, I was punishing with st.hk> exmgb for the last forever, but it seems I should punish with links, whats most optimal for damage, your tutorial mentions pick links or juggles, have you found this to still be the case? should I try ad f+mk > st hk or other?

f.mk -> st.HK is great. There are lots of characters you can f.mk -> s.MP -> s.HK, which is very easy to do and more damage. Learn who it works on and who doesn’t :p.

Cr.fp st.rh is most damage right there. 1 frame link tho.
Damage scaling is like this (i think)
1st two moves in a combo = 100% >3rd = 80% > 4th 70% > 5th 60# ect ect
Punish combo f.MK s.MP s.MP s.HK xx EX MGB > LK duck straight > EX Straight x3 > LP MGB = 485 dmg 773 stun (4bar) (shit punish combo, duck straights did like no damage or stun)
^^^ EX MGB > LK straight > ex upper = 434 dmg 662 stun (2bar) (same link but ended early. not bad for 2 bars)
^^ c.HK c.HK > 426 dmg 590 stun ( 1 bar) (same link 1 meter)
f.MK s.HK xx EX MGB > LK Straight > EX Striaght x3 > LP MGB = 523 dmg 851 stun (4bar) (2 normals into juggles which means you get
c.HK > lk straight > ex straight x4 > lp mgb (496 dmg 880 stun)
Combos with big links pre EX MGB scale the duck straights too much past 60% imo it’s not worth imo
best punish combo is c.HP s.HK xx ex mgb because it starts off with a unscaled, 2 hit, 200 damage 360 stun link straight into EX MGB 80% and LK Straight 70% which is 366 damage 620 stun 1 bar not even finishing after lk straight.
Not everyone can be hit by lk duck straight > lp mgb in the corner . if you want just do HP jet upper at the end. it’s only 30 damage and 50 stun less than lp mgb
practice your juggles first on easy to juggle characters like balrog, dj, cammy, seth, then move on to harder characters like twins, sakura, guile, fei sagat, then harder with shotots blanka makoto adon , then harder ect ect
tl;dr
you dont want your duck straights to scale. Big link combos are for mainly 1 bar/ultraless combos since the scaling, ultra and duck straight combos are for stun or max damage with few links and more juggles since you get more damage out of your juggles with few links.
never s.HK ex mgb punish unless it’s like a -4 on block type punish.
