Still wondering what’s going on with this. We had heard early December, but absolutely no info yet.

Seems like it. Shame that they’re changing strategies like this. Probably not gonna do good things to their image. Hoping the Razer rep can come in and clear some things up.
So after seeing LATIF use the stick there still isn’t an ETA?
Nothing has been officially announced AFAIK.
If they’ve even canceled it, which no one knows they have, you can’t hold it against them. It was a beta program.
I saw the stick up close and personal. A lot of hype for not much to show. It was the prototype design that was originally show with all the spots for battop and misc parts. The hood prop/hydraulic was a nice touch, but that’s about it. JDM pointed out that there’s so much plastic to it. I’m sure there will be more opinions, but it seems like a decent travel stick. If I were them, I’d invest in Phreakazoid’s LINK because then it could be the good travel arcade stick.
I really don’t see where you can say that.
They solicited a wide range of people to submit information that they might not have otherwise; information that they will almost undoubtedly hang on to, use, and maybe pass along. How many people here would have given up this information if it was marked as something other than a ‘beta test our new stick’ offer, instead being just a page that said, in essence, ‘we’re coming out with a new arcade stick. Sign up here to receive information about this and any other of our products’?
Second, Latif is only one person. No single person will ever be able to give feedback on absolutely everything about a stick, and even things he does touch on may be in the absolute minority among the general population. If he says, for example, the weight is fine, but they go into production and the biggest complaint is it’s too heavy, that’s something that could have been easily found out during a wider-spread testing. Besides, at that point, they can’t really say it was designed by gamers, but only by a gamer.
But you also missed where I said that the forums has at least one representative from Razer registered, and that hearing from him would be very helpful as to what’s going on.
Actually, this is reassuring, in a sense. It says that they haven’t gone to a “Release Candidate” (to borrow a software term) stage yet, and thus simply aren’t ready to put a product into testers’ hands. Again, the Razer employee posting up will help give perspective.
I’m hoping the delay is because they’re retooling the case to be COOLER and not DICK.

Plans change…so they got your email address. Big deal. You seriously can’t be mad if they decided giving away 30 grand worth of sticks wasn’t going to be a good investment.
