I am so down!

should be there as long as I can get it off work.

Hopefully you guys can come.
I’ve got a surprise for everyone for the weekend.

NeoRussell

ill do my best to go represent KW

theres a venue feed and a tourney fee? . . .

so it’d cost $25 to play an 8man single elim marvel 2 tourney?

Venue Fee is just to pay A&C World for using their venue.
$5 is for spectator fee if you are not competing and just watching.
Tournament Fee is standard $10 for the any tournament you are participating in.
$5 for any old school games you want to enter. Single Elim so that there is no cap of players.

NeoRussell

Matt: ie. it’d be $15 total to enter mvc2. ($10 venue + $5 tourney)

Is it really necessary that 10+ year old games that finish fast are gona be single elimination?

can we pls make marvel double elim it wont even get 16 players

i think russels post was just not clear. it says double elimination for all tournaments(saturday at least) except the old school games in OP. double elimination mvc2 would be pretty awesome though :stuck_out_tongue:

why would I ask about marvel 3

single elim mvc2? on ps3?

good luck…

If you thought marvel3 was scummy how would u feel if u got killed by cable with 5 bars in a single elim tourney? You’d be salty as fuck!!

I know double elim of 16 man bracket will still take long but we’ll see the turnout. 16+ will probably be Single Elim but i’ll ask again a few days before the event and decide from there.

What’s wrong with PS3 marvel? Last I checked, tournaments were either on Dreamcast or PS2. Marvel 2 and 3S does not lag on PS3. It’s not Marvel 3 we are talking about here.

NeoRussell

Xbox360 marvel 2 was better… IMO… Also make that shit double elim… It will go fast no matter what

Unless somebody can prove to me that there is a difference between PS3 and 360 for Marvel 2 and 3S, I’m all ears. Double elim is fine if the numbers are right like I said.

NeoRussell

Ottawa will hopefully bring down some 3S players.

I’m going to try to be there, but you can pretty much forget about me competing. I haven’t touched an arcade stick in 2-3 years. Had I known there were still tourneys in MvC2 I never would have disappeared. Quick question. Are official Hitbox Sticks allowed in Toronto tourneys? I’m on the verge of buying one.

Deathfist: You can use Hitbox if you want. I believe they fixed the issue that makes it easier for players who use Charge characters. I say just buy a qanba or madcatz for something with a proven track record.

A few more surprises coming next week to get your guys ready for the event.
NeoRussell

1]Thanks. Now I know I can get one if I want.

2]Qanba or Eightarc, maybe. Madcatz, probably not. Not dual-mod is a virtual deal-breaker. As for the Hitbox, although I grew up with pad, and to a degree arcade sticks, I haven’t touched either for a while, so I’d be starting fresh. It wouldn’t be detrimental to try something new, so I’m still thinking Hitbox. It’s more like 45 [hitbox], 25 [Eightarc], 15 [Qanba], all else [15%], but that could change drastically if I see something custom that’s interesting.

If I were to go in right now, without purchasing anything, it would be with an Afterglow PS3 pad controller [and I’m new to that controller…].

3]It’ll be interesting to see the surprise you have in store for us.
