So, last time I tried to refresh memory on a SNES game with success. Now I have another one I remember playing from young childhood.

So, like, this one time we rented either a 32x, Sega CD, or a PS1, I forget which one. But one of the games we rented for it was a first-person view RPG game. I remember seeing a portal in the game, and a bunch of deadly plants up against the walls of the dungeon. I couldn’t quite make it to the portal because I kept getting killed by some plant thingies. But what I distinctly remember was this mummy creature that was tall and intimidating. Any time I ran into one, I would be running for my life. And it even had a distinct scream. This must have been in 1996 or earlier.

So like, do you know which game I am talking about? By the way, I have no idea what the box art would look like, so I can’t be of much help there.

can you draw us a picture

I second a picture, since this could be on three systems. And also because this is a BeGuiled thread.

You really must be just sitting back, waiting in a dark, empty room … for someone to figure out your masterfully deranged riddles. The only series in the mid-90’s for the PSX that was a First Person RPG game that I remember is the King’s Field series. The first one came out here around late '95. It played a bit like Doom but with swords and 32-bit models that made you want to slap yourself stupid.

I always get excited for a “guess this game” by Beguiled thread.
