As a artist starting out, i think i need to practice a lot more on my drawings so with that in mind if anyone wants me to draw somthing just ask i’m looking for requests so i can improve. So just give me some references to help me out.
errr not scrub, intermediate more like on and off for 3 years and now straight classes and stuff for 2. But thats perfect, my favorite anime character of all time! sure i’ll try to please the people and he’s a link
Just looked at your page and it seems you got alot of figurtive work. What i would suggest is to draw more backgrounds and work with your linework some more. It’s too flat right now. try to variate some of it.
Your style is pretty good. The Trigun girl is my favorite. And that car is great, I suck at drawing cars. Working with more structure with your people is the only tip is can give you at the mo’ there’s alot of variety in you Devart page. That’s really good.
Yeah as for needing to get better I feel that way all the time. It’s the artists infinite curse huh? But it’s good to be humble enough to always grow.
Maybe join Karate Chop’s club. The Judo throwers. Some of the artists from here are in it. We comment on each others work and share ideas. And having alot of great artists to inspire you is fantastic! It’s cool to be part of an artist community and scanning and posting heaps is a really good way at helping you grow.
well you are off to a start, you have a desire to draw more, all it is bro is Practice…you even had a little Inital D in there…i like me them retro Cars…anayways.keep practicing, id start with some basics first get some of them shapes going again rough it out then apply details later- if you need a crit you will be able to find help on here.
My bad, dood. I was just going by your 1st post cuz you said “just starting out” and I thought you only had like a couple months experience. Your work is a little on the flat side. Anime is fun, but when you draw it over and over, it tends to kinda wear on your mind and you might begin to loathe it. That’s how I unfortunately started out. Just try to focus more on line art from various artists, and just mess around from there.
damn such support, never had people backup my stuff feels good ^_^. I actually have a lot more work… a lot more, it’s that i can’t find time to scan it all, I should do that to show you guys but thats cool that there’s like drawing clubs or groups like CptMunta said that’d be cool to join. i’m working on that trigun drawing now.
Believe it or not, tracing is not a Sin, if you are doing it to learn and to improve your own style. If you go to school for a graphic art degree, tracing will save your ass. When I get time I will show an example.
I trace when I am doing animation. Thats it. Tracing can do one thing, as best I can tell. It can help your muscle memory when it comes to learning how to dedicate to one line when drawing instead of scratching the pencil across the paper. But as far as learning goes, I don’t see how you benifit from tracing (from an improving standpoint). Observing and praciting line weight and variations on your own will develop skill more effectively (IMO). In other words, looking at how an artist draws somthing and trying to reproduce it through thier TECHNIQUES is more valuable than putting a paper over thiers and copying the lines that they have already created. But that wont change people’s opinions on the subject, as I’ve come to learn from other forums.
