wtf are you talking about? yeah you can rc normal moves. the players in the cvs2 athena thread rc down fierce through honda headbutts all the time.
NICE!
I suck so this stuff helps:D
baka!
hey thnx to this thread i made a big step into RCing, arigato man but i have one question…
when i try to RC hop with blanka… i need to press the lp and all 3 kick buttons… how do i place my finger? when i try to put my thumb and index finger together its extremely hard =/
finally i can start a N-groove team i think iori/chun li/??? who should be my third?
sorry if i shouldnt post this question here, i dont want to start a real big thread about it, just list some top tiers that could compete plz… i know blanka and sagat… but i want something else… is eagle good in N-groove?
No.
it depends. i also sometimes use that odd duo of N-iori/eagle/some R2 like blanka. there’s some really interesting team chemistry, because they both handle the entire top tier between the two of them. iori gets countered hard by honda, blanka, and bison, and eagle eats those characters up. eagle has problems with guile and cammy, and iori counters them both. and N-eagle gets short jump and RC lariat, which are two big attributes.
but the biggest problem is that they both have trouble using the meter. eagle’s level 3 rush sucks because sometimes it misses hits towards the end and you’re wide open. iori’s rush only takes off 5000 also. so you’re best bet is to use eagle’s level 1’s and iori’s counter roll often.
you’re basically using iori in his best groove, and eagle not in C/A (obviously, and they’re his best grooves). it’s a good idea to use them both in A-groove, because it’s eagle’s and iori’s second best groove and they can burn meter.
peace
PS- blanka’s hop is only 2 kicks.
yea i know, but plus roll is 3 kicks… or wait
should i do this??
lp+lk, keep lp pressed and let lk go and press mk… means lk+mk…?
hope u understand =/
RCing Blanka Hops
Press down and hold roll (lp+lk) with your index finger and thumb, then press down mk and hk with the knuckles of your middle finger and either your ring finger or pinky (whichever feels more comfortable).
Unlike with most other RCs, you may not want to push your index finger and thumb together for the roll when doing Blanka Hops – it can make pushing the other buttons with your knuckles more difficult.
ahh thnx for that i just tried to keep my fingers together
Um, not to intentionally cause any more controversy…
But which is it, exactly - CAN one RC normal moves or not?
Or is it the case that only certain normals (such as the aforementioned Athena d. fp) can be RC’d? If so, is this do to frame properties of said moves i.e. # of frames, duration, etc.?
Thanks again btw!
Ok, since youa re confused from all the sarcastic comments, I will be nic and tell you you cannot rc normal moves.
Gwai Lo 1/2:
Thanks man.
… it’s not that the subtlety of the board’s particular brand of sarcasm is lost on me, it’s that I get lost due to the sheer volume of it! And any facts I DO find are, more often than not, folded tongue-in-cheek - layered in upon themselves so many times as to cut much the same as the driest humor.
SRK sarcasm = the Masamune of insider joking.
Lately when i try to RC, I usually end up accidently getting the RC’ed jab/short version of the special… But when I try to do it on purpose I can’t. (of course)
WTF is wrong with me? I suppose I should hold down jab+short and just keep practicing.
I also find charge moves the hardest to RC. god damn i suck.
If you could RC normals this game would be the stupidest game EVER. People poking through each othe all day.
Yea, I hate charge moves, although they were the first ones i learned to rc, i didnt practice them at all. If you are getting the short version of the move try pressing the roll a tiny bit earlier - or hold them down to prevent negative edge.
How do u do LP and LK RCs? Ive tried double tap roll which works with some chars some of the time.
charge moves are way easy =/ i have more probs with hcf or qcf for that matter
Cantrip:
Well, I, for one, know next to absolutely nothing in regards to CvS2… so naturally I thought I’d take a stab at attempting to answer this :D.
I’d suppose that the characters for whom it does work with the “roll” button, lp+lk (a shoulder button, more likely than not) are the ones with punch OR kick specific special motions. As such, with these characters there is no confusion over which special should come off (such as with Ryu’s fireball being the only special he has that is assigned a qcf motion). That is to say, if he had a qcf kick motion, when using the designated “roll” button method, no special would be executed. Fireball and whatever the kick special might be would cancel each other out.
Thus it appears that the stick jockeys (or non-lazy pad players [i.e. NOT me - cough, cough - the shame!] who tap lp and lk assigned buttons together for roll execution) have a clear advantage in this case. (not me… yet ). It’s all a matter of timing the release, I would suppose - perhaps a double tap even.
Experienced tappers can do it easily.
The rest of us just use Ryu.
Jabhadoken I figuered out the part about chars not having overlapping motions, The thing is im trying to use Gouki in C groove . The RC im trying is goukis command roll but he has his hurricane kick is overlapping. I find weak RCs very hard this seems to make it impossable. Also, does anyone have a good way to RC dp moves?
lol, i only brought up the RC low fierce with athena because jae hoon thought you could low fierce through a RC honda headbutt:confused:
Ok, since this is a RC thread, I’ll ask all my RC questions here
I learn to RC charge and Hop. However, there’s still trouble for me to RC Quarter circle. But my problem is not RCing itself. I can RC hakoden with my eye close. However, my projectile dosen’t pass through the projectile of my opponante. I AM SURE that my hodoken is being RC since I can hear Ryu’s rolling sound + my ryu tend to bend a little bit before throwing out the hadoken. However, I realise that when I RC at the moment the projectile of my opponante touch me, I’ll “dodge” it, and hadoken it back. So my question is: Does RC hadoken pierce enemy’s projectile??
Also, I was wondering WHEN should I RC cammy’s drill kick, chun’li spinning kick, sakura’s spinning kick in a match?
