None of these jeans that cost $140 or more are any more well made than $40 jeans. I already went though my hipster phase, back in high school. I had a $120 pair of jeans that I got 5 wears out of before the ass fell apart. And I had a $170 pair that I got 6 or 7 wears out of before the seems starting coming apart. With this kind of shit you’re paying for a name, not quality. Otherwise, the pair of jeans I’m wearing right now that I got for $25 5 years ago would have been dust by now.

I’m not sure what a hipster is, exactly, but this doesn’t mean much besides the fact that you overpaid for jeans. Keep in mind that Diesel, 7 for all mankind and many of the denim you probably bought wasn’t a good definition of well-made denim.
Expensive != quality.
It wouldn’t be hard to convince you that Sanwa parts cost a premium because of their materials and build. Nudie denim, for example, is built with quite the same mentality.
