Tritton or Turtle Beach?

You didnt specify if it was for PS3/Xbox or PC gaming, but for PC gaming I choose the Cyber Snipa 5.1 Sonar’s. They’re rebranded Medusa 5.1 NX’s which are all the rage for PC gaming in the UK. Definetly the best 5.1 headset I have ever owned since they have 4 actual drivers/speakers in each ear muff.

i have tried both Tritton and Turtle Beach.

i hated the Tritton headset with a passion, i felt the ear cups were just too small and not well padded. also i would get a constant hissing sound, which i thought was a defect so i returned them and got a second set. 4 sets later from 3 different stores it was the same problem… the sound quality other than that is ok… i should have known better than to buy a Madcatz product…

Turtle Beach’s on the other hand i love… as long as you dont get the x30’s you should be ok… the x30’s screws with your wireless internet signal… the sound quality is topnotch and the ear cups are super comfortable. i honestly dont think you need the 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound but thats just personal choice. and if your looking for something that will run on both PS3 and XB360 i would recommend getting the Turtle Beach PX21’s since they are on the cheaper side these days with a Retail price tag of $79.99

imo trittron and turtle beach suck. Audio techinca ad700 with a mixamp or zero dac. If you want to communicate with other you have to get a boom mic attachment. But i will say if you don’t wanna go through the hassle of getting all this then turtle beach x4 or x1 would be a good choice. x4 looks like x41 but no 7.1 vs x4’s 5.1 and the x1 which wired but has one the best sound qualities. Astro headsets…laugh.

I’ve never used Tritton, so I can’t comment on them.

I broke my Turtle Beach X1’s (stepped on them and broke the part that swivels one of the ear cups… hard to duct tape together comfortably ), and I replaced them with the revised X11’s.

They are about $50-$60 bucks, and much improved over the older X1’s. Your ears couldn’t really “breathe” with the X1’s, but the X11’s earcups are made of a better material and are much more comfortable.

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, go with the Turtle Beach X11’s ($60, wired headset). Good sound, good microphone, good for late night gaming/tv , or to better immerse yourself in a game.

(btw these are for xbox, so if you use ps3 or anything…disregard this post :wgrin:)

I use a TRITTON AX180 with my X360 home setup and my PS3 slim office setup. I like the sound better than the X11… But the biggest/most important sell point for me is the comfort of the 180s.

i have the turtle beach PX21 with the astro mix amp, they sound good its can be used for all systems and the extra volume controls come in handy. im not sure on the life span of turtle beach products had them for a week but for 80$ i think its worth it
