Translated AE2012 Blanka changes

i tried it again with akuma

super vs 2012

there is definatly something done to the ultra. pushback from akuma’s chk looks the same. blanka was unable to connect ultra 1 from close range blocked cHK in super but in 2012 he does.

Keep in mind if this is accurate, it doesn’t necessarily imply an increased range on blanka’s u1. It could signal a wider hurtbox on Akuma’s cr.hk. Which to me sounds less out of the ordinary for a stealth change.

Thats right, more likely a stealth akuma nerf, would have to verify it on 2 or more characters to point to a blanka ultra buff.

Plus, like someone said in the 2012 change thread, if we really want to know we can peek the data files when PC version comes out for any and all hidden changes.

fadc into hp elec also whiffs on this group other than gief and hawk, so there is a chance they have slide timing stuff possibly. I think if you are going to fadc elec just doing strong elec is the better option for now, you lose out on 5 damage on average and don’t have to worry about who it works on.

in corner vs. akuma

j.hk, st.mp, cr.mk xx ex ball fadc hp elec, overhead, cr.mk xx hp ball(dizzy), nj.hk, st.mp, cr.mk xx hp ball = 100% life

That would take me about 3 days to learn, that’s a hard sequence, I never used st.mp in combos it feels alien to me!

Yeah it’s pretty awkward. I can’t do the version that requires both a slide and the overhead to link to upball.

As someone who was never able to get the Ultra 1 50/50 to come out (Never got the timing down for it to hit behind the opponent) I was able to do it on the first try in v.2012. Does anyone else here feel that it’s now easier to do?

it’s always been about hitting ultra slowly and getting as much movement as possible. So once you learn to do it you can pretty much always do it. It’ll just be a coincidence. I can’t see why charge buffer time would have been increased.

I use it for frame trapping with cr.hk.

I like to use the HP version for all, same start up with piano input like LP MP HP MP HP (5 frames).

I use it as a divekick AA

…what are the 2012 things you made a habit of doing differently that has helped your game the most over the last few months?

Looking for a quick summary of the most helpful tweaks you found best after playing a while.

I am a pc user as well. After playing a bit AE I think is should definitely be more careful with the EX vertical ball reversal and that I should put the Rock crusher -> ultra in to my mix. With all that hop -> c.lk xx elec on my mix up game the opponents are crouch blocking a lot I must squeeze a rock crusher there somewhere :stuck_out_tongue:

oh and kill the habit of Hp horizontal ball into super
