Just paid for some classes so I’m broke as fuark. Gonna wait on one of those epic steam deals to get this game. In the mean time, I guess I can get around to finishing Bastion.
How long is the average total play time of Bastion?
So anyone have any opinions on this, anyone that isn’t pony fucker that is.
I have 8 hours on Bastion and I beat it once and my brother played it a little on my PC… So less than that.
I’m going on vacation on thursday so I’m going to hold off on starting Transistor. Will start it up next week probably
I honestly don’t get why a lot of people hate on Bastion’s game play, it plays like most other ARPGs except instead of mindlessly clicking like Diablo and grinding for loot it actually requires some skill with dodging and keeping up with the hectic combat. ARPGs are rarely not button mash fests.
Amyways super hyped to see Transistor’s BioWare-esque game play, but I’ll have to wait till it’s on sale.

Been thinking about picking this up on Steam. So, is it worth picking it up now, issues and all, or should I wait until it inevitably becomes part of a discount sale (or at least until it gets patched)?
Got it for PS4. Sick game.
I’ll always pretend to love you, no matter what.
Also, for more info on this game, it’s boring as fuck!!
No, I’m not joking. 3 hours in (found out I’m more than half way through) and I’ve literally be using the same strat on everything. Kinda wish there was a hard mode, cause I like the idea of the game.

I’ve been reading in some places that you can earn modifiers to add on to the game and make it harder. Tried those yet?
As harsh as I sounded, I’m actually looking forward to the new game plus. As I mentioned, it’s boring at the moment, but the idea is really well done. There’s some balance issues, but when certain moves are used too many times (or if you die with said move in your slot), you lose it for quiet a while.
As for the modifiers, I found only 3 out of… well there seems to be a lot more.
I won’t be using any walk through until I beat the game to locate these, but I haven’t given up any hope on the game itself.

How bad are the graphical issues on PC?
I haven’t had any, it looks great. Have people reported issues?

Not sure about Transistor. It’s a Supergiant joint so mad respect, but Bastion’s combat system feels oodles better.
I think it’s the turn-based component, and the encounters tuned to need said component. Takes me out of the action.
How far are you? Because I felt similar until I got 7 functions and I started mixing and matching them. Then all the tactical possibilities emerge and suddenly I feel like it all comes together. Especially if you are using Sybil’s function. Lots of fun. When you aren’t in planning mode and you aren’t using the function to modify a function to be used while your turn recharges it does feel kinda weird.

Oh I’m not too far in at all; that was more an initial impression shortly after the first “boss” encounter.

How exactly foes the turn based component work? Isn’t it basically just RTP (Real Time w/ Pause)?
When you enter the tactical mode, a meter is seen visible on the top of the screen. All actions, including moving around, deplete this meter at different costs. You plan out your moves. When you activate the moves, time goes on (so sometimes enemy placement isn’t so perfect) but you will be moving at an accelerated rate. After that, you can’t do most actions again besides movement and your blink-like ability until the meter charges.
Basically, if you don’t enter tactical mode, then you can do as many offensive moves as you want, but it leaves you very much open to attack, whereas with the tactical mode, you get to move around and dodge attacks perfectly.

use jaunt as a modifier, its the best upgrade
I love the little messages you get when you take overkilling too far.
Edit: And I beat it. That ending. -_-
There were issues on launch. But like, 5 hours later it was all basically resolved (maybe less than that).
They had a 50 MB patch to fix up the day one bugs everyone was complaining about, no big.
So many enemies can chase you down when your Turn is on cooldown though, having that Jaunt to escape more quickly is just so useful.
