For the seacons, only really thing I was upset about was they pre-applied all the stickers and some of their sticker apps are just horrendous (ie some will literally tear if you do transformations, so watch out). I saw a few people complain about the quality of the plastic used, but I dunno if they just hadn’t seen the originals in a long time cause I had a few up until a year or so back and they’re pretty damn close to what I had.
Also few color app differences, chrome sword, snap’s head is green…things that don’t make or break the toy but some may have a personal preference about it.
Overall a very solid reissue for me, if they would have just left the stickers on a sheet instead of applying, I would have been 110% happy with the toy.
Has anyone read the early 190-page 1986 TF animated script draft on Jim Sorenson’s website? It was on Seibertron.com late last week (12/09), pretty cool read. Seems Predaking was going to be an Autobot at the time of the draft. And Megatron’s actual death is LOL.
Holy HELL was that to be a violent movie. Yeah, I don’t think kids could have taken all that in back then, with bots getting cut in 1/2, getting legs cut off and such…wow.
just recently, at Toys R Us. Same with Cybertronian Ironhide. I noticed that their exclusive MP Grimlock has had it’s retail price gradually increase over the past couple months.
That’s messed up. I saw one last night. It was more of an impulse buy than anything else. I got to the register and the lady said 17 something (post tax). I let her know that all TFA deluxes were 12.99 (which is a nice markup as it is). She went back to her Manager and was told the same price. I politely left it there. I’ll grab it at some point in the future, but I still have to get my parents gifts
Did one of these for a buddy last year, finally finished up the version for myself. PS2 stick currently but I’m gonna add a 360 padhack to it soon also.
I used to not care at all about the seeker repaints. But over the years, the hype over them, plus me wanting to get more classics Decepticons to better balance the two opposing factions has fed my desire of collecting them.
I love how people were like “Hasbro is never going to release a Generations Thundercracker” despite proving so many people wrong with the recent Conehead releases.
hey, if they get back to a classics skywarp/UM release I’ll be one happy camper.
then the hard part just becomes getting city commander + upgrade set at a decent price yeah right.
Looks like he gets a new mold. I’d like to see what they do for Leader Optimus Prime. Outside of paint apps, he’s my personal benchmark for all movie figures, since its damn near perfect.
Well, with some of the cash I got, time to go Seeker collecting. I found Thrust. SC is behind the power curve when it comes to TF releases. I just started seeing Skullgrin 2 weeks ago
I am loving that TFclub Devy… Definately able to see that being a new holy grail.
I received the fansproject Protector (rodimus prime) upgrade, and it’s exceeded my expectations. Would have preferred a more sleeker design with some curves, but still very cool. The bold blocky style was more complimentary to City Commander/Magnus’ bot design than Protector’s IMO.
Kind of sad after learning that the MP Rodimus is docked into his winnebago trailer backwards for the transformation, and that it’s windshield and front end section is simply an entire piece that’s a part of/connected to the trailer itself. Almost seems like cheating, but I suppose it’s comparable to how some Prime toys have two truck grills, one for each mode.
could you take some pics of them next to each other for size comparisons. id like to see if the sizes of mp grim, ultra and if possible fp brut are somewhat correct. if you understand what i mean. thanx.
