I think I’m the only person who thinks that the Dinobots should not EVER combine.
I think they are awesome in that as a team, they are as strong as nearly any Gestalt and don’t need to merge in order to compete. I never liked the idea that just because there were 5 of them, that they should have to be a combiner team.
5 of the strongest robots combined…with 5 of the dumbest robot AI.
Would make for something much, much worse then devastator…it wouldn’t know who the fuck to fight or why it was fighting, things would just die.
That being said, probably why it was never done

His Dinobot combiner is really nice. I remember when people used to give him flack for the partsforming and combiner kibble, but he finally made use of the extra parts.
Despite the amazing work, I’m with DK in that I don’t think the Dinobots should combine. And this isn’t just from a conservative nerd standpoint. They just don’t look that great together. They look more like a forced concept as opposed to one that naturally works.

I wouldn’t look for Grimlock until August really. Most TRUs have a Wednesday, a Friday, and a Saturday morning stock. Those are the times to check after he gets a first sighting.
I read a blurb regarding Hasbro’s panel at SDCC…something about how they’re learning the ropes about making combiners and that the PCC Combaticon and Aerialbot sets aren’t meant as stand-ins for Bruticus and Superion. Perhaps we’ll start getting updated versions of our favorite G1 combiners in a couple of years.
Maybe, but they said the exact same lines at BotCon and they said those things multiple times. I think it’s a talking point.
The fan-rage on the PCC stuff was that we were getting those in place of proper combiners, so they’ve been on a PR mission to say, “No…we promise these aren’t poor substitutions. They’re something new! You guys like new stuff right?”
(I like PCC so far)
But still…
I think PCC is neat. I don’t care for the drones, but I love the scouts and minicons. I just want the combiner teams I grew up on. I guess I’ll have to make my own.
Oh well, I’m definitely looking forward to FP’s Munitioner and Explorer when they finally come out (Latest ETA: August). Now all I need is a fucking ROTF or Energon Bruticus. All I have right now is an Energon Onslaught
Yo DK: you wouldn’t happen to have a spare ROTF or Energon Bruticus by chance? I’ve tried my hand at TFW and Allspark and no one has what I’m looking for apparently. Either that or “fair price” scared potential sellers off. I had a guy trying to sell me one for $85 shipped a while back. No thanks.
dinobots combined is the most awesome idea ever, its an almost 25 year old idea that cant go wrong. also rtheres no reason why the combined form should be a dumb ass or not work properly. they can always make shit up like they did with the rest of the tf crue. its fantasy, combined with soo many damn unibverses that anything is possible.
