yeah I stalk there every once and awhile

Has anyone gotten their hands on Generations Thrust? I’m glad I picked him up. I wanted the Botcon version, which I still consider the best representation thus far, but the price tag was always an issue. The Henkei version was pretty cool too. My only gripe with the Gens version are the swirls in the crimson plastic.

I ended up painting the face on mine. I think I like Thrust with a darker face. He had one in the comics and the Botcon version used black. I just think it fits better than what we’ve seen on the cartoon and Henkei/Gens toys. I used Testors Model Master gun metal since it was a close enough match to the grayish parts. The eyes were painted gloss red with a toothpick.

I think I’m going to paint the intakes chrome silver and then go over them with clear yellow to achieve the perfect gold look. I noticed the Henkei version had goldish intakes (Botcon Thrust’s were yellow). As for the missiles, I may replace those with a pair from Classics Ramjet. I may coat them with gun metal as well.

Aaaaaaaannnnnnnnd…I’ll probably post a pic.

^^^ Probably, that post was worthless without pics . . . . .

@Cracka, yeah I love the bot mode. It’s got a lot of detail, and the transformation is “close” to the game version. This figure’s design process had better coordination with the game’s model developers than the movie figures obviously, as movie 1 figures can be melted after seeing movie 2. Leader Prime was the decent, but I don’t even display it since ROTF Prime is almost a mass released MP figure. Now if they made ROTF Prime with dual fuel tank cannons, better paint apps, a more manageable sword storage, and rubber wheels, he could have been put into the Masterpiece lineup.

After I sucessfully transform a figure, I look at the instructions just for grins. You notice that WFC Prime’s instructions have a mispelling right?

“WEAPON STOAGE”

I forgot where I was posting for a minute.

the internet?

Hey all,

This is 75% or so of my current display. I turned it into a mini-article on seibs due to people always asking me about Tyler Durdin. No, wait, because people are always asking me about Classics stand in characters/toys.

No, SRGay.

Christ.

Is all of that in one room or scattered across several rooms?

That’s in my den. All of my stuff stays in there. Big a fan as I am, crazy as the collection is, it doesn’t seep into normal every day life. People coming to my place would never be the wiser.

so no grimlocks today…did find/bought seaspray though, so not a complete wash.
will post up a bit about him once I got a chance to fiddle around.

I’m wondering if someone is holding back MP Grimlock until SDCC is over. Hasbro is selling them as a con exclusive there. Maybe they want first profit dibs on it and then release it into retail?

Why do they have to make that grimlock some lame exclusive. There’s no TRUS anywhere near me, let alone one that would have something in stock. I can’t even buy one off of the hasbro website

I half expected Grims to not show up on schedule. Maybe there was a mix up with Hasbro’s announcement of a July 1 release date. Could have easily been an August 1 release which would be right after the con. Or July 1 could be the ship date to tru retail stores. I’m gonna wait til an info page pops up on tru’s website before I search the one local store here. If necessary I could always use it as an excuse to check out the tru in Times Square. Last time I was there they had all the animated exclusives in numbers and a few each of Perceptor and the Insecticons.

sadly, I will probably end up ebaying the Hasbro MP Grims. For some reason, the Toys R Us stores around here never have the good stuff. (probably due to scalpers)

I’m almost going to HAVE to ebay Grims, seeing as I’m in Afghanistan until Oct. If I can’t get my friend to pick him up for me, then I’ll just end up getting one when return. Then again, the 3 month gap might work in my favor IF I wait and the eBay prices go down. We’ll see what happens.

So seaspray is ok. Kinda basic, but pretty decent looking in both modes. The boat mode has enough room on the back for some of the smaller vehicle figures.
Imo not really worth the 23 bucks he was priced at, but if you can get him in the bogo tru sale (if it’s going on still) it’s a pretty good price.

And yeah, I’m really hopin to get the tru grim and save some dough, but if I miss out, I’ll just get the jp version. I want him in my collection either way.

Hey guys, just a bit of advice on this Grimlock thing…

Be patient and when your patience wears out, be a little more patient. TRU exclusives have a bit of problem getting onto the shelves, but they always produce them in abundant quantities. TRU requires higher production numbers. Your patience will be rewarded. As it gets closer, if people really need, I may be able to score some for you all.

Seaspray looks alright. I saw it at TRU this morning. Picked up the box, looked at it for a good 30 seconds, and put it back before leaving. The BOGO50% sale is no more. And it sucks because I was looking to pick up a PCC Smolder and Huffer at the sale price.

Is anyone still looking to score an Arcee? Our TRU has been putting more and more of them out recently. Of course, the scalpers tend to strike not long after I’m there since they’ll be cleaned out the next I go.

I would love to get an Arcee.
