Iām proposing this contest idea at TFW2005ās customizing forum where various people create a modern G1 Sixshot toy. Itād have to have 6 legit forms and not be a parts-former.

Itās never really been done before although I can understand why (lots of parts engineering involved). Well, someone had begun work on it, but they passed away.

I just want to narrow the focus of my collection down to Revoltech, Classics/Universe, Animated, Masterpiece, and Binaltech/Alternator.
G1 is just a really expensive line to get into and while heās a cool figure to have, I believe someone else would enjoy him a lot more.
Speaking of which, Iām surprised you donāt own him already.
g1 is the ugliest line of all time. the designs where brilliant and beautiful. but the way the toys looked, and the fact that they cant move, legs usually attached to each other and other way too ugly shit its just fucked up. masterpiece betters this by using the same design with new joints and just far better looking bots. they can actually pose. besides masterpiece, some of the titaniums and henkeis classics look pretty damn nice. just wish they used the old designs for the henkeis (they oly look 10 times better). the lambos being countachs, grimlock having the dino tail as legs, not the head as legs? wtf happened to his chest? just my opinion btw.
I play a really slow hand with G1. I buy few exceptional pieces per year. Otherwise, Iād end up on buying binges. This year Wheeljack is on the list. I finished the Dinobots in 08ā.
But it was the 70ās and 80āsā¦
Itās been roughly 25-30 years since these molds were first designed and produced. Toy engineering wasnāt as good as it is now. There wasnāt as much detail, the transformations werenāt all that complex, and there was very limited articulation (if any).
Your posts make me shake my head sometimes.
Thatās definitely a smart way to do it.

The whole Hound/Cyclonus/Cheetor/Dinobot/Smokescreen/Starscream wave is pretty much win as well. Although I think Bluestreak looks best in the new mold, the Smokescreen is pretty eye-catching. Dinobot and Cheetor surprised me; hopefully weāll see more Beast Wars characters soon.
I respectfully disagree. yeah, some of the molds were pretty uglu (like G1 Megatron) but itās that style that makes me appreciate it so much more than the new stuff.
The new stuff has been looking really good, itās definitley improving in leaps and bounds, but I still really like the boxy, clunky style. Thatās probably the reason why I hated Bayās TF movie so much. Itās his style that I think is horrendously ugly.
I need to get back into completeing my Alternator collection. Iām still not interested in all the repaints but I really do need to pick up Hound, Mirage and Hot Rod still.
