Are you kidding? Of course it’s a repaint. Thundercracker is now the 4th seeker repaint (Greenscream, Skywarp, Anime Starscream and Thundercracker).
And I’ll be to you Takara ain’t nearly finished with that mold yet. I’m honestly surprised they haven’t tried to do a Ghost Starscream yet.

are you referring to the Diaclone/Microman whatever Megatron or Browning? Im pretty sure they were both black.
Browning is pretty hardcore despite the name.

Yeah, or Sunstorm. He would be quite a cool looking piece. I saw a custom Sunstorm on TFW2005.com the other day - looked pretty nice too.
Maybe Takara planned on so many repaints that they made extra molds? The seeker design is extremely popular, probably the most popular right after Prime so they could have anticipated having to creat more than one mold.
Really? I’d rather see them make a battle-damaged movie version Megatron myself. And I’m curious how well that would sell since like Satomi said - it is pre-TF.
Masterpiece Microman?
Last I’ve heard, people were saying the next Masterpiece is Grimlock. I hope that hasn’t fallen off.
I do like G1 Ultra Magnus’ Diaclone counterpart, Powered Convoy. The colors are just great. In fact, those were supposed to be his colors when they introduced him in the '86 movie.
Hard to believe that the G1 Megatron mold - albeit some changes - dates all the way back to the mid 1970s.
Diaclone Magnus was red, black and blue, right? I think I saw an early TF movie trailer where those were his colors. Yeah, that looked pretty cool.
Speaking of cool and Ultra Magnus, am I the only person that really seemed to like G1 Ultra Magnus? There was just something about him that was really enjoyable about that toy (considering I only owned him for like 2 hours before my dad made me return it).
And yeah, it’s weird to think that Megatron is actually older than I am and I was 10 when TF first came out. Prime was originally made in '76 right?
Your dad made you return UM too? Actually, I love G1 Magnus. And the toy was a white Optimus Prime with really cool armor add-ons and a superior vehicle mode. It’s too bad the Matrix ended up going to a fucking teenager. When I was a kid, I always looked at Magnus as more of the Autobot leader type, after Prime of course.
Yup. I was around 13 years old, saved up some money from my paper route and took my bike over to my local Target and picked one up. I got him home, started putting on the stickers and admiring my new addition. Then my dad walks in and asks me where I got it - I told him and he drove me back to Target and made me return it. He was telling me I was too old to be buying toys and I need to do something better with my money (saving it was his only suggestion and still is to this day).
He did the same thing with Predaking about a year later. I bought all five (or was it six?) Predacons, got it home and once again, he just walks in, gets angry and made me return them. Except then I didn’t even get a chance to get all of them out of the box.
So yeah, one of the unfortunate few who’s owned/yet never owed UM and the Pred’s.
That really sucks.
Are they going to re-issue G1 Optimus Prime
Well damn that sucks. I haven’t seen pics (if leaked pics exist), that’s why I asked. I was hoping it would be a new mold.
Question (I guess I should ask Daidoji or Satomi this, since I’m pretty sure they own the figure(s) in question): Is it worth it to get Unicron? Or Primus?
I was thinking of getting Unicron. Not the black Energon version. A little too rare and expensive. Plus the Armada version is more accurate to the movie. I was just wondering if it’s actually worth getting him. I’ve watched some video reviews, it seems like he has too many cosmetic imperfections though. IE, why did they fuck up his alt mode so BAD? I mean look at Primus’ alt mode. Virtually perfect. Why couldn’t they have done that w/ Unicron?
And speaking of Primus, is it worth getting him? If I was to get one, I’d have to get the other. So if it’s not worth getting one of them, then I probly won’t get either one. It’d be Unicron + Primus or neither.
I like my unicron and my unegron. pity I’ll probably have to sell them.
