What I love about the Dinobots is that they just happen to be a 5 member group, that don’t need to combine to kick ass. But it’d be a cool what-if concept.
I’ve never heard of this story before. I’ll havce to check this out later today. A Gestault Dinobot team would completely dominate the battle zone. They’d probably make the Predacons their bitch.

He came in this past Friday, and I love him. Though I’m puzzled by the general opinion of the toy. Mine doesn’t seem to have any of the problems that most seem to share:

He stands just fine. The ball jointed ankles are tight but i’m still using the top of the foot pads to support him just in case. I don’t ant him toppling off the shelf.

The joints in the shoulders are tight as well so he has no problem keeping his cannon arm lifted.

Transformation isn’t that difficult. it’s essentially the same as the original but with a few more twists, tucks and turns. The only part that I got stuck on was the chest/stomach portion. I didn’t realize that it collapses into three parts instead of two like the original.
As for the lack of die-cast, yeah, I would have liked to see a little more but only in the lower spinal area. if he’s going to break anywhere, it’ll be in that general area. But the original had the same amount of die-cast, and adding anymore would probably make him too heavy.
And the same goes for his cannon said being too big. It’s about as proportionate as the original was. Could just be me though, but i think it looks great (almost blinded myself a few times with that damn light).

Well, another complaint regarding MP Megs was a residue on the feet that a lot of people were calling “rust” but DK pretty much called bullshit on it and said a simple cloth should remove that.
I know about the rust. Since I’ve only had him for the weekend it will probably be a few weeks until somethng appears.
And for the record, I’ve TF’d MP05 three times now.
About $1300 I think.
Did he come in bot or alt mode? Because when I bought him, I was expecting to have to transform him into bot mode (a la Skywarp) but it was already packaged as a bot. I haven’t transformed him yet…too much of a pussy.

I got the Coronation pack for Starscream today - the cape is actually tucked inside where you can’t see it. I was worried since it doesn’t show when you see the package - you have to open the package up to even see it. Phew. =)

So, essentially, Cliffjumper from the Classics story ends up hopping to another dimension where he is greeted by a terrified Decepticon. Rodimus appears and promptly shoots the con cold.
Cliffjumper (CJ) is taken to Prime to meet up with ‘his old friend’. To CJ’s surprise, Prime is bad-shit homocidal. Prime shoots CJ after they disagree on whether torture is just a bit of fun, or a bit of evil, and CJ is left in the wilderness to ‘think things over’ (Prime doesn’t know this isn’t his CJ).
CJ is found and repaired by the Constructicons (in red and white ambulance colors…). Megatron takes him in and Starscream (the loyal and brilliant scientist), explains wtf is up. With some coaxing by the reformed Sideswipe (who was an evil Autobot, now heroic Decepticon), CJ joins Megatron in an effort to prevent Prime from making that fateful voyage to Earth.
Battles go on, Prime calls forth his Seekers, asses are kicked, Soundwave is an MP3 player ( :woot: ), and the heroic Cons win the day.
(That Megatron from the set is bloody fucking awesome. :looney: )
No, for some odd reason all G1 Megatron’s come packaged in their gun-mode. I’m not quite sure why it’s such an issue for the MP05 but not for the reissues? maybe Warpitcon can shed some light? He seems to know everything that involves TF’s.

MP5 was packaged in robot mode because Prime was, because Magnus was, etc. It’s just the best way to display the figure. Starscream is only in jet mode to get him to fit in there.
Remember, the MP series is meant to sell only in Japan. They don’t care about our laws, flat out. The child safety law was not a consideration on the part of Takara.

theres a comic book store nearby that has it for $60, they sold Fire Convoy a loooong time ago though. I probably wont get it since I already have the Sams Club version.
$40 and I wouldn’t pay any more for him.
He’s actually cheaper than his American counterpart at this point.
