Well the original Soundwave, known as Cassette Man, could actually play certain tapes (think Teddy Ruxpin toy). He came with earphones, and actual batteries went in one of his legs.
A year or so back there was a custom MP Soundwave on Ebay. Looked like the G1 cartoon, made from MP Prime, and still transformed. I wish I’d saved the pic.
There was also a MP Megatron up too, made from Prime… transformed into a railgun… looked pretty sick.

Yeah, I’ve seen the same pics too, and these customs were damn nice looking too. Not even the paints needed work.
But after seeing these new images of Screamer, I might have actually crapped in my own pants. Hold on, lemme check… After seeing these, I let go the non-anime color scheme and be happy with what’s here, and I still say anyone who’s cancelled their pre-order over it is a baffoon.

I’m gaga over the smirk! Who gives a shit if he’s show accurate? I mean, that’d be sweet and all, but have you checked TF fans’ reaction to Screamer? It’s like someone slipped their parents poison or something. I’m a HUGE Starscream fan, big as they come, and I’m seriously not complaining. I’m grateful that Takara made him in the first place.
What the fans really need to bitch about is Alternators Prime. That has to be one of the worst $25-30 I’ve ever spent. God, what a turd.

Does anyone know the name of the volcano where the autobot ship crashed and it’s location? I don’t remember it being mentioned in G1.
Theres been lots of rumours recently about TRU reissuing more tfs soon, apparently theres 6 autobots coming.
In the cartoon , it was never named.
In the marvel comic, it was called “Mount st hilary” in Oregon state. which doesnt exist in real life.
However, there IS a Mt St Helens in Washington state, which is real and erupted in 1980.
I think the reason they never explicitly stated what state/volcano, etc in the cartoon was so they could have different types of scenery which couldnt appear in real life. Whenever the scrpt calld for a dam, power plant, disco, w/e, they could just make one up w/o having to explain away inaccuracies.
i agree prime alt sucks ,but Nemesis Prime so makes up for that one so i’ll let that slide.
but most of the new designs for prime that have come out over the years havn’t been that great like armada/energon line now that prime sucked.

I haven’t even been able to find him or Mirage in stores so I’ll just take your word. I never liked the look of Alt Prime but I love the line so I’ll probably buy him eventually.
And yup, that smirk is one of the key factors for me. I love this toy and can’t wait until I get the money together to pre-order one.
Jignat: that classic jetfire actualy looks pretty good. They seem to be pumping these out at a quick rate. Any word if this line will be the next animated series?
