No, I meant rather than just releasing them along with Classics Ramjet last year, they released Dirge and Thrust as overpriced Botcon Exclusives.
Then again, I just sold my Ramjet, since (A) I was never that big on them to begin with and (B) it’s not likely they’ll be mass produced for the next wave of Classics. But if Thrust was available at a normal Deluxe price ($10), I’d probably get him since he’s got the superior color scheme and wing mods.
They weren’t overpriced.
The set was $280. Let’s say you didn’t go to the con, but just had one sent to you (Price includes shipping). Also note, they were available to everyone, even non-club members.
$280/5 = $56 per figure
So, yes, in one regard, they were overpriced in that they are 5x more than a retail release of the toy.
However, since they were NOT going to be released at retail ever, the club did a good job of providing the figures in one form or another.
Considering how much ($250-300) BotCon seekers go for now, $56 was a pretty good price.
Take a step back though; Bugbit and Dreadwind could be sold for $50 a piece if you didn’t want them. Easy. Pricing the set at $180 now gives you all three seekers at $36.
It’s just how exclusives roll in TF collecting. They fetch high dollars, even from the outset.
Overpriced was TRU selling reissues for $30 a pop when Hasbro had suggested a MSRP of 10-15. Thanks for killing American Reissues TRU!

but I still bought all of them because I knew they would never come around again and I would end up paying the same amount to import them. I remember being at KB toys and they had tons of reissue sideswipes for $15! hell yeah! I bought 2 of them.
on that note, did takara shitcan the TF collection series in favor of the encore series or is this just a temporary thing?
also, since theyre releasing that dumb jet dragon cat dinosaur does that mean the possibility of omega supreme/shockwave reissues?

Jazz was always the black transformer, hell in the original cartoon all his dialogue were scat singing. He was even voiced by famous Jazz (no pun intended) musician Scatman Crothers.
All they did for the 2007 movie was replace Scat Singing with Gangsta Rap.
Not to nitpick, but Jazz didn’t exactly climb up the building. Megatron burst onto the scene, fired his gun, and pretty much KO’ed Jazz. He then threw Jazz up there, demanded to where the Allspark was, and when Jazz gave him lip, then he tore him in two.
Incidentally, I don’t really care that he’s kaput for good. The movie didn’t really build up any other TF’s (except for Prime and Bumblebee) for you to care about them dying.
I want to see Mirage and Wheeljack on the Autobot side and there’s something about a teleporting stealth jet (Skywarp).
Megatron also tossed Optimus’ salad…
Still can’t decide if I should get MP Skywarp, I already have MP Screamer and he just feels like a repaint to me… but then again MP Megs with 2 MP seekers by his side would make an awesome display…
