Raiden is pretty fucking cool. If he wasn’t like $1,500 on eBay I’d so buy him.
I’m sure you probably know this, but there were knock-off rereleases out of … Hong Kong of all the major combiners ~3 years ago. That’s how I got Raiden, Brutucus, the Aerialbots, Protectobots (Computron?), Devastator, and (can’t remember the other one) for about $80. That was the best $80 I spent that year.
And Raiden is cool, but sucks. He’s another set of robots that seems kind of randomly jammed into the Transformers universe. =\
EDIT: Clarified it was definitely unofficial. But cheap and satisfying.
Knockoffs != rereleases. Not that I’m above owning knockoffs, as I have several, and some are very, very good (like my Sonic Bomber, for example). But they’re definitely not a rerelease.
Some of the bootlegs are better than the originals and re-releases in terms of size of plastic quality. The guys that do kitbash work at Transtopia use bootleg figures for some of their projects like Protectobot Blades.

First, in the marvel comics and second in the Cybertron/Galaxy Force show.
He takes all the planet keys and literally powers up to Giant size.
He gets owned in the end and it’s not a big deal.

go for it, nuts to the “serious collectors code” and buy the KO. its certainly cheaper then buying the real deal. and its not like takara is making any money off the raiden mold anymore.
but in the off chance they re-issue it I suggest you buy that as well.
Agreed but be 100% sure what you are buying before you do.
I thought I was buying a KO Devastator and what I got was a KO Devastator… only it was about 1/2 of the originals size. then I tried buying sets of constructicons that were full size only they lacked the parts to make Devastator so I was denied twice.
So fuck it I might break down and buy the OG one sometime. either that or the parts to assemble the KO constructicons I have.
