I’ma be part of hardbody alcoholics so no ride needed, thanks.
Damn, the hate is strong in this thread. I would be glad carlos even threw in as much money as he did, not hating on the fact that it wasn’t more. If the place isn’t making enough money in drinks just fuggin say so, no need for the passive aggressive shit. I understand wanting to support it but damn you guys are gettin’ hella queeny. No homo.
it hasn’t came up yet that we aren’t making the money…but I’m paranoid (I mean this is all we have for a venue). So yeah every week is just stress that we are bringing in enough business, because if I don’t bring in the revenue, well we’d lose the venue. And I would have failed in keeping our scene strong and vibrant in the fact that we have a place for all of us to get together and enojy each others company as well as steadily improving our game/keeping our heads in the competitve scene.
Of course I’m probably just over reacting on that last part…and being a little queeny =p.
Yeah, I think we’re doing OK so far, we have plenty of heavy drinkers that seem to even it out and I think everyone is good about tipping pretty well for the most part.
yeah i think they are happy with how its going so far but ill talk to the boss to confirm it. i dont want to push anybody to buy drinks or throw in hella but like we’ve said the venue is free. (sucks FOR YOU GUYS BUT NOT ME AND JOSH HAHAHA) that the kitchen closes before you even get there so theres no food available cuz i be hungrier/drunk than a muther fucker on saturday nights.
if you cant bring books its coo, if you cant buy drinks all the time its coo, but it could be worse. what if frank had to take money from everyones entry to pay for a venue to play at? less payout for the winners. im glad to see that there was such a big turnout though thanks everybody.
bokkin good shit on pitching in what you can. i especially was glad to see you were money matching. more people should do this! make some of that gas/food/drink money back
I don’t think straight tips are going to help anything. I’m pretty sure the business would want to see increased revenues through liquor and beer sales. Not increased wait staff tips.
I think the best way we can tell if we are making enough is to monitor the U-call-it prices. It started out at 5 bucks, now it’s 6. Also from what I heard from C. Viper, they made about the same amount of money the first 2 weeks (preseason week, and week 1). To put that into perspective:
preseason had about 20 people there, with 5 dollar u call its, 3 dollar beers
Round 1 had about 45 people there, with 6 dollar u call its, 3 dollar beers.
Wait, how can they make the same amount of money both weeks when in Round 1 week, there were twice as many people and an increase in a dollar for you call its?
I know changing the time is likely not possible, but my biggest issue with drinking is that by 10:30, there is not much time for me to start drinking and sober up by the time things start coming to a close.
If there were a possibility of getting there at 9:00-9:30 and starting some casuals, it would be a lot more likely for me to throw down on more beers while waiting for the action to start at 10:30. Plus, I would be drunk by then, so it would be twice as fun.
^yeah vagrantless asked me to pick him up too I said yeah so it looks like you, dugg, mor, vagrant I told paul I could give him a ride but I don’t know how that’s going to work sunday morning (maybe 4 can sit in the backseat?) I hope this can work out. Maybe one in the trunk? lol if its mor/eman/dugg I think we could easily fit 1 more in the back you guys are pretty small.
I’d love to start earlier, but the restaurant closes @ 10pm iirc. Plus I don’t get off work till 9:30pm anyways so that doesn’t help either.
Also I’m going to scratch the tournament idea for now. I was invited out by some friends that I haven’t really seen/hung out with in a long time. I told them that after TW’s I’ll try to stop by. But I will see if I can set up an official singles tournament in Nov.
The main thing is we are going to need like 4 consoles/setups. So if anyone is willing to step up (I know Pat’s always down with his monitor). I’ll try to talk to Ian on Saturday about TV’s and if they have a few extra we might be able to use.
