@jalapNo its cool bro, i appreciate the thought of coming thro, i kno eventually u will make it down
As of right now im cutting over there, the set up will be done around 3ish, if yall can show up early we can get casuals going early, peace and good luck 2 everyone thats entering
So I’m reading this and have a question
What is the price/hour on each station and how long does it take to run a tournament?
I just got back from there, the place is really nice the people are extreamly nice, the way they have it set up is really nice
All and All the place is a great place to go play.
The main concern for me being a broke ass mother fucker is that still the entry fee, now that I have seen the place and seen the people that are participants and helpers with the tournament I will be returning when I get back to the westside. As we talked about in IRC today we need more highstakes tournaments and I will say that if the price goes down to 10 bucks and maybe a bigger payout for the Top 3, or hell if it stays at 15 bucks and the payout increases I will be there entering there tournaments. I really got along with everyone there after talking to Terrance in person I felt bad for trolling this thread a lil bit.
Im sorry about that Terrance I know you were just trying to help I have just been out of Street since Evo and more into trolling, so sorry about that. Your hella chill and the place is as nice as you make it sound. After some payout changes and the money situation is changed around I can def see this place blowing up.
So over all I give this place a 4 out of 5
+1 for cool ass people
+1 for nice setups (I would have prefered evo moniters but the place is not all about street fighter)
+1 for how smooth the tournament was going while I was there
+1 for it bringing in new blood I saw tons of new faces and saw people walking past and stopping just interested in what was going on and they were asking questions
+1 for TACOMA CUZZZZZZZZZZZzz
-1 for money issues that will hopefully soon be resolved
@slash5150 the venue charges by the hour for regular costumers, however, for the tournament, each person plays 15$ to enter the tournament and the whole venue is open from 4 until the mall closes, we also had 3 tournament screens to play on and 2 causal screens for SF(the problem is all the xboxes are behind the counter so the venue invested in some extension cords just for us
@Famous Nate its all love my dude good seeing u up there 2, and the only way we can knock down the pay out to 10$ is we need @ least 20 people to show up by 5ish(thats the business side of it, they have quotas to meet), not 2 mention we got brackets 2 get 2gether and get the ball rolling, as far as the screens, we knocked em all down to 720p(cuz 480 was too blah)so believe me we considered that.
So how was the turnout?
For anyone still on the fence about this, there is a frozen yogurt shop with 8 different flavors directly across the floor, where you pay for yogurt and toppings by weight, and the price is awesome. Crazy number of toppings too.
That aughta do it. :china:
I will try to remember to make it up next Tuesday.
@ROX45 it was great, we had 16 people enter and Boflex Mike won again, its only gonna get better too
WOOOO GO GO Dojo Guardian for dominating the scene!!! Making it happen =D
Right on brotha!!!
J-Cole
Yup Congrats again to my dude bowflex Mike for taking the $60 bones. For Mike, just another day at work again I guess… lol but ya it was another great tournament, tournout of 15 people and many more purely just intereted. We actually ended up using 3 screens to run the tournament and two for casuals which made the tourney run much faster and allowed for more casual play afterwards till 9.
Btw appreciate the chun li work Steve, needed it. And we appreciate the support from the community on this. Were still doing the best we can to make make more and more improvements week by week so feel free to input your ideas and well do the best we can in making strides toward positive change.
Bowflex is the playsmart champ again? Word.
Where are all you southern srk cats at to stop him?
o dugg, where are you at, i only went to watch this tournament cause i was at the mall already but i was late wanted to enter but havnt played in like a month
I GOT THIS NEXT WEEK
my ADON is kickn erry body in the mouf word
But its a good tournament to get into the scene helly cool people show up every time but after i take this play smart tournament ill have to see if i can get into TW with Seattle’s finest
Everybody? Hmmmm, you should probably go to a couple tournaments before gaining confidence in your play (go to the dojo or watch the stream). I’ve been running Adon since before super officially released, and although I have been placing well with Adon, NW top players know how to beat any basic adon strats.
I would really like to come out this since the pay structure has changed and people like trace, brent and bowflex are showing up. Sounds like some more healthy competition. Just what I need
@Riki-oh i would really love to take ur Adon down with my cammy but yea come on thro bro, and I wish trace would come back thro, i played him in a loosers finals a few weeks back and he counter picked Sagat(after i took down his Ibuki) and owned me
Awesome, I love showing up to tournaments where no one knows who I am. It makes winning much more exciting. Hoepfully I can get some money matches. Haven’t had any one willing to accept a money match for quite some time. Any takers? Terrance? Hmmm =]
Ill think about it Riki-oh,lol but we’ll see tho…
From now on im gonna post all the tournaments in the playsmart tournaments thread insted of continuously reposting new 1s,lol so from now on we will move all conversations there
Are you asking the right people or just trying to hustle, teacher?
