I’d argue that I’d be a Candidate…but seeing in the LAST match I’ve played the 4 out of those 5 have beat me and 2 I haven’t beat yet in a tournament setting (Future (I will get you) and Tanaka (…)) although Chris and I go pretty back and forth…

I have to say Ceramic Sugar has progressed a lot further then Elias (please no offense elias, u have gone above and beyond as well). Tourney compare…Ceramic Sugar has won at least 4 1st place tourneys, with many defeating Tanaka and future and even myself to claim victory. Elias has not done that yet. I feel you are being a little to emotional when it comes to these things Frank. Part of it is because of your strong passion for the scene. You gotta realize that when you shit on our regulars like doubting if they even show etc…doesnt give them a very good vibe or feeling(put yourself in their shoes and read what u are actually saying man). Its almost like u dont even welcome them into the scene, hate is not good bro especially against our own. You cant be so hard on folks like that, we gotta show LOVE to all of the players here in the northwest. LOVE ABOVE ALL!! Even if they are being an ass, kill them with kindness. It turned into open challenges and having the satisfaction of taking people out on their home turf. We need that, AfroDojo is going to bring that element. I just want everyone to be prepared and ready to handle it. Cause ill be dame if we go to another state to play, get mopped up and have everyone get on the forums and start shit talking making us look like pussies. People need to MAN UP and take their losses. MAN UP and realize you are out of practice and start PRACTICING. MAN UP and shake your fellow competitors hand, ask him how he breaks down his practice, LEARN about each other so we ALL CAN EVOLVE!!! Its the only way, trust me on this one guys. If you all are going to label me as one of your community leaders, you gotta be able to trust my word on certain things.
I have my reasons for picking the people I do, Iv had experience and carefully watch everyones performance and accomplishments. I asked for your guys opinion on my top 5 selection and if u had concerns, present them. You did not present any reason why elias should be on their over ceremic except that “Elias isnt new skool”. I just gave u my reason why i thought ceramic should rep over elias. But honestly, this tourney is not that serious, its more for fun. If future doesnt show, i would replace him with Elias. Reason why i feel elias is new skool, is because he developed El-Furte after Narrows even after GameWorks and I first saw him at GameClucks with Riki-Oh and crew. To me, he was the first of the New skool wrecking shop.
Sorry for long winded post, but I felt it was necessary cause a lot of negative vibes have been floating around when we are on the brink of a new SF era. We can not be destroyed from within!!!

Im going to do a private seating ranbat. Based on the turn out of sat + sundays singles. Im going to seat the top 8 for the first AFRODOJO Ranking Battle. Doing well in both will help your chances greatly.

Let me just do this, let Cole pick the team. I kinda got thrusted into choosing the team, and while I appreciate that Riki would want me to select the 5, I have more important things to worry about than a PDX/SEA rivalry right now.
So thread fixed. I wanna see portland there just for the singles alone, let’s forget all this us vs them ish. We can do the just for fun 5v5 and st 3v3 before the tournament. So 5v5 starts around 3 tournament starts when that is done.

About the scene and all that, looking through the thread I just think things got blown out of proportion. I mean look at how things were at the playoffs last Saturday. Despite people heckling and rooting against Carlos, people ended up respecting him and his abilities because despite the ill will people had towards him, he put it down. Can’t hate on that at all. Seattle vs Portland team event talks have always boiled down to back and forth spats. Always will I think. Nothing anyone can do about that. People up here (Seattle) are hungry to play period, and I think that’s a good thing. Some things could’ve been left unsaid, but I think this is mostly good.
^I’m a big believer in a little heckle does good…at least to me (I like to “shut people up”) …I only look for praise from those I respect…every time I win…Nate/Josh/Jacob/Team Jurassic etc… are tight…that’s all I really care about…Mandel I think it was really cool what you said to me…I’m always down to play…I don’t care who you are…Speaking of which…who is Billy? I’ve heard alot of mention of him…did he move? Is there anyway to play him? I’d like to play him…

No hate here, but that’s the thing I don’t get. It’s like this impossible team of five people that won’t all be here at the same time, and if seattle doesn’t beat that specific five then it doesn’t count.
We simply have far more people in the scene, we are less spread out, and we just seem to play the game more on the whole. Who cares? Doesn’t prove anything to me. It’s like cool, so-and-so practices more. If the two players were at the same level of practice then it might be an exciting match. I’m really not trying to say portland sucks or anything, but to me it just seems like we care more for the game.
Anyway, no offense taken Cole, I don’t consider myself old school at SF4. You’re right in that I didn’t play until after it came out on console. You can’t hold his singles tournaments placings over me though because I don’t play in the singles tournaments.
I don’t want to be a part of a 5v5 thing either way though. Back when we had our ST rivalry I wanted on the team hella bad, but SF4 is just different. Not interested.
Can’t wait to play all you guys again. Its been a while. Hopefully this weekend I can prove to some people that im no scrub myself. I have only been playing blanka lately, no other characters.
I was in London for a week playing with some of the top London guys, and i was doing really well. think they helped me level up a lot, but we will see this weekend.
