I agree. With you on Mai. She is not built for battle. Her body is slender with lil to no muscle mass. I think she has ninja training but what good is it when you do everything that’s opposite of a ninja? Also like Malin she brings weapons to a fist fight. ( Steel Fans ).

Toughest Female fighter IMO is Sonya Blade. Before her females in games were never harmed much if at all. Then MK came along and said “Fuck that women can get it too!” And she dished it out too, with arguably the most brutal cast of fighters there is.
How does getting murdered by the rest of the cast make you tougher?
Because really if we want to talk about tough female originals Chun-li could kick Sonya’s head of her shoulders then shatter it into a million pieces before the body hits the ground.

And of course MK is the most “Brutal” cast of fighters, That’s pretty much all the series had going for it for a looooooooooong time because they sure as fuck weren’t focused on game play.
I mean you gotta be pretty tough to take the kind of punishment Sonya does. And I said she dishes it out too. And she’s military trained. I ain’t saying you have to agree, but c’mon you telling me Sonya Blade ain’t tough?
That’s exactly what I’m telling you. If I was to only think of the MK cast in terms of tough females, Sonya would be dead last. No pun intended.
I don’t know, I definitely rank Sonya high in my list of tough female fighters. It’s probably (in no particular order), Sonya (due to combo ability), Makoto (because all of her punches look like they hurt. Even the weak ones), and Cammy (she looks very athletic).
