Tougeki SBO 2 3rd Strike Results

What the hell…

That sucks. Why didnt the alternate go? Was the alternate informed about this?

For those who say Team USA got put in a favorable bracket, that was a DAMN good team that they beat in the first round. Pino AB7 is perhaps the best Necro after Sugiyama, and Messatsu Yarou is a top 5 Urien (he has almost completely MASTERED charge partitioning, just hearing about it amazes me).

This community always has SOME BS excuse ready, it seems…

Oh, and to answer your question 720, apparently Valle couldn’t afford the trip and John Choi is busy with school. Hence, no alternate. =/

-Josh

Thx for the heads up Josh  . Props to the CVS2 team for giving it their all regardless they were one man short.

Can anyone else get the rest of SBO2 results?

LoL

punkass ricky!!!

are you the same Keith i lost to at NCR2? if so, how’s that K-maki doing? :]

I dunno if this was true as well, but I heard that the only players that were allowed to go to Japan and compete was the top 3 of the tourney, so meaning there wasn’t gonna be any alternate. So since Ricky wanted to go to Seattle, our CvS2 (unfortunately) had to 2 instead of 3 :(. I wish Ricky would’ve went, but I know he has his reasons why. Oh well, better luck next year?? I just hope that the qualifiers make it all worth it for people to go and not give us 1 month prior to the trip to come up with X amount of dollars.

[12:05:16] <exo-tech> SA2 yun took top at SBO
[12:05:18] <exo-tech> awesome
[12:13:49] <BukNIPPER> sa2 yun did not take top
[12:13:58] <BukNIPPER> mester uses genei jin yun
[12:14:37] <exo-tech> are you sure mester used SA3? he told people that he had unblockable dive kick technique that used SA2…
[12:14:42] <exo-tech> and said he was using it at SBO
[12:15:21] <exo-tech> which makes sense because he can dive kick after SA2 at a specific time that could result in an unblockable dive kick
[12:16:02] <exo-tech> oh…did you see if matsuda really did have a 100% genei jin meter buildup?
[12:26:19] <BukNIPPER> yes mester definitely used sa3
[12:26:34] <BukNIPPER> i think his new gimmick was countering lots of stuff with strong shoulder
[12:26:46] <BukNIPPER> i didn’t see any 100% meter builds either
[12:26:57] <BukNIPPER> saw some things getting pretty close, but not 100%
[12:29:40] <exo-tech> hrm. interesting
[12:29:53] <exo-tech> strong shoulder…heh
[12:30:10] <exo-tech> i guess both of them were bluffing
[12:30:35] <exo-tech> thanks for the info

Why did these people even go to the qualifiers if they didn’t plan or have the means to go to sbo?

who knows, wasn’t the entry fee quite steep as well? like 25 bucks?

haha yeah, that was me
gg’s against yer k-team that day
k-maki is gettin a little boring and less effective…
gotta come up with a new style to make her fun again :T

Just a correction to this post. It wasn’t the fact that Valle couldn’t go and John Choi didn’t even enter the quals so the alternate would of been Combo Fiend. The fact of it is, Japan said that there were ’ NO ALTERNATES ALLOWED’ so they were forced to deal with the lost. Sux, but shit happens. They still did good =)

GO BUK and KIM BEEEEYAAAAAATCH!!! heheh

J-Cole

Cole: Ah, thanks, someone else mentioned that stuff in a post so I thought that was right.

One thing, if they don’t allow alternates then why was Hungbee listed as our alternate for 3s? Just an oversight on our part or what.

OK, now to stay on topic, are Matsuda’s teammates really good at all, or was it just him the whole way?

-Josh

Did Frankie use Denjin Ryu? And how many battles did he win?

Congrats to team USA.

Well done to team USA, defeating japanese players is NOT easy at all, and much props to them.

Also well done to mester’s team for winning, although I would have thought KO’s team is literally untouchable, but there you go…

oh and this thing with Messatsu Yarou mastering charge partitioning, hasn’t RX also done that? From videos that i have seen it seems like it.

Good Job to Team Moto!

Very unfortunate about Ricky not going.
Daigo nowhere to be found, while he was noted as saying he’d win (not a specific game or anything).
Luvving 2nd place team for 3S. A lot of upsets which I hope will be featured on the DVD, includiing team USA… even if it’s just to see how the crowd reacted to them winning.

What was the format for it? Elimination or Round Robin?

Also, congrats to US team, thats damn impressive in that sort of high pressure competitive environment. Interesting to see the Ryu players in the teams, wonder what SA’s they were using?

Arlieth makes huge ass of himself and embarasses everyone more than once and even on tv. not surprising

way to go buddy!!!

Did you enter SBO quals? havent seen you in tourneys lately youre Duddllylylyy is sick :stuck_out_tongue:
