Hey what’s going on guys, I never post in this thread but I figured I should get started if I want some people to show up for the FL tourney.

I spoke with the owner earlier in the week about it, and while he’s cool with the tournament, he’s a businessman and just wants to make money, so he wants a 25% cut of the loot. I feel this is stinky, and would rather make the tournament like orbit has it & just pay for the games. This leaves us with:

$5 entry, 0.25 per game or
$10 entry, free play.

Now I prefer the first one, and am interested in organizing a T5 setup as well, and possibly even a MvC2 or Soulcalibre II sidetourney. Both the latter would be subject to having enough people, but it’s always an extra option. The only issue currently is, if we choose to go the cut-the-owner-out route, and pay for our own games, Tekken @ 0.75$ a game is going to suck. WTF do we do? split quarters? :xeye:

I’m going to see if we can get it reduced to $0.50 a game for the tourney, and if so we can get things straightened out to be held on a saturday (24th) rather than the sunday. If everything goes smoothly I should have a post up tommorow night or Monday on how things are going to be run. I highly dislike the downtown attitude of “you-beat-me-now-I-must-kill-your-family” and would like to see more of us downtownians playing uptown, and more uptowners playing down here. That being said, disregard the fact we’re playing on crapmerican sticks and come down and give it a go. Despite the fact your execution will suffer horribly and you’ll feel like a scrub, you’ll get to play against new people and it’ll be fun :clap:

mythicExile: That your ken I faced first match (urien here :p)? If so, sounds like we were really evenly matched. Just over a year playing here, and 2nd tourney. I beat the shakes that I had during T6 but my execution on japanese sticks is poo. Was the closer of my matches since losers bracket stuck me against Jay :xeye: That woulda been a pretty big upset, two white guys playing urien taking him out.
