There really needs to be a sign funland (and perhaps every arcade) that should read ‘be kind to your fellow players’ or ‘it’s just a game’. Something I can just point at when somebody gives me attitude. And i’m not talking about any sort of taunting in the game, but all the threatening, or beating on the controls (that just makes it worse) that happens in that arcade. Honestly it’s disgusting looking at grown men acting like little kids. There is no reason to put up with it in today’s society.
And I’m not saying all of ya are bad, it’s mostly half of the guys (good or bad) that go there bring some sort of ego with them.

I concur, and I can host if you’re interested. I’m also looking for a training partner since I have nobody to really play. I need a PS2 though, cause right now I have a MAS stick but no PS2. And I also bought Alpha Anthology, too…lol. But I do have DC with 3 pads, and I have CVS1/2/A3/3S/ST/MVC2 for it.

I was at Funland around 5:30-6. Left at like 6:45. There were only some random people that weren’t too great. There was this one black guy that played makoto against my Hugo, and was like “W T F ?” every time he got 360’d or Gigas’ed. I guess he thought he could block them. I never bothered telling him, cause he didn’t play me long enough (maybe only 3-4 games).
Heh yeah, I play green Ken too. I know who you are though - the white guy with glasses that plays grey chun and teal makoto. I hate when you turtle too much
People need to turtle at FL more in general i think. Has anyone played Samirs Yun recently? Runaway/bar charge all day, and props to him for getting consistant KO enders, lol speaking of turtling anyone seen me play a Hugo with Gouki, Ive been bitched at for that playstyle but i dont care. I try as hard as possible to win always and still have tons of fun doing it, and the atitude at Funland needs to be “play to win, and have fun”. I’m sick of beginner scrubs at FL bitching about top-tier use. There are lots of excellent mid/low tier users at FL who don’t dislike the “play to win” style because they understand what they got themselves into and know the matchups against Yun/Chun/Ken. I don’t hear Ocean complaining when I use Ken against his Q (probably cause he wins) but i still get random idiots whom ive never seen before get pissed of when they lose to top tier. These people need to stop playing on the good 3S cab unless they choose not to complain about the way other people play because some of us are trying to improve.
Also we need more Chun li’s at Funland, every other player at Orbit is a Chun player but I can only think of like 2-3 for downtown. I donno what happened to make using her “cheap and unfair” ( ive heard this from a lot of people over the course of a year or so) but Chun is an important part of the game and people shouldnt feel bad about using her. Chun is only slightly better than Ken and Makoto and Yun is even better than her so I don’t see the reason for “taboo” placement on her play.
PS Gerjay how can you play marvel on the FL cab? Doesn’t it feel like the sticks are raping your hands? I play on HRAP normally and can barely stand the P360’s for 3S, and I cant even use the other 3S cab, which is the same setup as marvel.
